I'm in town for 30-60 days staying in northeast Indianapolis. What are my best options for low-limit NL or structured hold'em? Most of what I've found poking around are quite a drive from my location. I'm looking for something within a 45 minute drive. TIA.

Indiana live has 1-2 NL on electronic tables, Lawrence berg is the closest option but it's about an 1hr to 1 30 away and is horrible action since Cin. opened their casinos.

Elizabeth Indiana is about 2 hours south near Louisville.

Hammond is near Chicago about 1:30 north

Indiana's casino strategy is to try get money from neighboring states so good luck.

Thanks for the info Mr.F. I was starting to think I was pretty much screwed after doing my preliminary research.

here is most recent post from Indiana Grand thread in Poker Venues. No. they are not allowed to have traditional tables. Thanks for open mind on giving it a try. Some players love it, some not much, almost all sayits better than what they assumed it would be.

suggest going over to that thread and ask some of the regs in the room.

They hold games on the north side at the knights of columbus, Mon, Wed., and either Friday or Saturday if I remember right. Usually have 3-5 full tables. 1/3 and 2/5. And I miss those Etables down at Live. . LOVE those things!

Played 3 sessions at Indiana Grand since my last post and enjoyed it. Had a couple solid winning sessions and one disastrous one lol. I like the speed of the electronic tables and no errors, but I think I still prefer a traditional dealer.

Unfortunately, my territory changed and I'm now up in Ft. Wayne.

There is poker 7 nights a week in Fort Wayne. The Eagles 1-2 game has a high rake, but is easily beatable. They do run some pretty good promos though. They run 2-5 on Fridays with 300 min 1k max to start, and then can match biggest stack at the table. They will also spread PRO if you can get enough interest. Good luck and I'm sure I'll see you around.

Thanks SPF. What kind of place is this? It's not listed on Wikipedia as one of Indiana's casinos. It is legal I assume? Safe? I plan on going tomorrow night if it feels right.

It's a small charity casino. They are legal but not very big. Usually on Fridays nights they will have 4-5 tables running of 1-2 and one 2-5 game going. They also have a $50 tourney at 6pm that usually gets 100+ people.

Heck, that's more action than Indiana Grand for cash games. Thanks for the info.

Bloomington has a small $30 buy-in tournament and 1-2 nlh at the Stonebelt Shrine on Mondays and at the American Legion on Wednesdays. Both are legal games, they run 7pm-12pm.

It that's Bloomington, IN, that's about 3 hours away and a little further than I'm willing to drive. Thanks though!

Played there last night and enjoyed it a lot. Game was pretty soft and I walked away with a small win that should have been better if I could ever hit a draw in my life.

What's up with cats packin' heat in there? Crazy. Felt like the scene from Rounders. Just glad I didn't catch a hanger and get my azz kicked lol. I'll be going back tonight after work.

Weird you can't tip dealers though. What's up with that?

Bloomington is less than 90 mins from Fishers I believe.

Right. I'm now in Ft. Wayne. Not sure how to update the OP, but I did bury that in one of my other posts. Sorry for the confusion.

Had a very profitable session tonight. Husband/wife team donked off over $1k at the 1-2 table. Very nice.

I too will be staying 1-2 night in Indy in the summer (Fri-Sun July 4th weekend).

I'd prefer not to drive 90 mins each way, but it seems like Lawrenceberg is closest place with real cards.

If anyone has recent experience with the American Legion games, that would be great.

1. From internet it seems that Carmel, IN is closest.
2. Also looks like $60 gives you $50. I am assuming no other rake or fees?
3. Is it strictly 1-2 NL? I am not looking for PLO, but I am one of those that enjoys playing limit, prefer 3-6 or 4-8 LHE.
4. Safe environment? Not looking for Rounders experience.

Looks like KofC is only Mon/Wed.

Indiana Grand is OK. Not sure about the KofC, or Legion. Lawrenceburg is a damn ghost town anymore. I live on the southside of Indy, and I drive to Horseshoe Cincinnati. Games are ridiculously good, especially on big weekends. Worth the extra hour in the car, IMO.

Cheers
