Hi guys, visiting Glasgow this Easter weekend staying from Fri thru to Tue... have read the thread but can't seem to figure out best casino for cash games? I'm interested in higher games but 1/2 will do.. however would prefer higher.. which casino is my best bet? And I won't be playing scared money, in fact I plan on making sure the table is loose and happy and donking off stacks...

I'm not the most experienced person to give you a definitive answer but my guess would be the Alea - if only because it's the busiest casino out of the ones I have visited. They'll also do higher stakes if you can get some of the players to agree.

Had a few annoying weekend MC tournys recently. Picked up massive stacks early in both the weekend tournys last week, lost momentum and bluffed off both my stacks, one shove i like, one i shoved straight into the nuts. Went this sunday, came back after break and decided to try exploit my my mostly weak 7 handed table, bar one solid reg. Ended up calling 2 streets to shove river straight into top set of aces that had just called my raise pre haha. Good times.

Might play tonight. See how I feel tbh.

Hey guys, any of you play cash at the riverboat?
I'm going to go in for the 100nl tables and it would be cool to get a clue in.

I'm new to casinos and asking the receptionist guy what levels of cash they had was quite funny.
I was asking if it was 200/400 nl tables and he was calling them £30 tables referring to the min buy in. Nice guy

Are the real life non internet players inept at theory? Do they study like us?

Most don't have a clue at basic theory live in the games I've played. It's pretty easy to spot who does. Saying that I got stacked by flopped nut flush and rivered nut flush last week when I played at MC last week so what do I know

Had a mare on Sunday. Went into FT with 1/4 of the chips in play, and wasn't much worse off when it got to 6 handed. 3 big stacks, 3 shortstacks. Idiot big stack then proceeds to start doubling up all the shortstacks with absolutely no need to postflop and preflop (calls utg 20bb shove from BB with Q9os when she had like 80bb, c/shoved 1082r board with J7 when villain shorty had half his stack invested =/). KK cracked by 87os aipf by shorty who raised half his stack utg!, 1010 cracked by river when floated on 235 flop with AJ (shouldve bet K turn though, didn't change anything and hits alot of my flop bluffing range), then JJ cracked aipf by KQ.

Annoying didn't quite cut it. Not so much the beats, just the totally moronic play by one of the other stacks making it stupidly difficult when the 3 of us could have sailed to the money.

Few questions

Anyone know the tournament schedule for the Cincinnati Club?

Standard?

Min buyin for the 6 card PLO game if it still runs?

Doing well online over past week and the club isn't too far away from my new flat, so want to try it out

Dunno - I've never been to the Cincinatti but was wanting to try it out in the coming weeks (never realised it was that close to the Alea).

Chopped just off ICM 5 way last night, taking £220 for 3rd and entry to the end of month freeroll.

Was speaking to one of you who mentioned 2p2. I was the guy playing like a mong early on with the grey adidas hoody Didn't even want to play as I really just wanted my bed.

Do you ever play cash games at MC? I really hate playing the tournaments, such a crap shoot.

Played quite a lot down at the riverboat, as recent as the weekend. Usually, the action is only worthwhile on Friday or Saturday nights, imo. On these nights, they run a £30 and £100 min buy in games, both @ 1/2. The 100 game is usually filled with regs, some of whom are better than others. Generally i find its far more profitable to play the £30 min buy in as its filled with drunken, short-stacked fish just itching to stack off super light.

I've played it a few times, but never really had the roll to comfortably play in it being out a job for a while, now moving into my own flat etc.

I usually stick to the deeper tournys, namely the weekend ones, although the add on tournys are not that bad. So many play really bad and make huge mistakes with big stacks, then try to play tight when they start getting short late on instead of making standard short stack moves.

I realise this is more a Glasgow thread but have any of you guys played in Aberdeen? Only seems to be the G to play at these days, not really bothered about donkaments but wondered what the cash games were like.

Came 6th (only out of 27players) in the £22 turbo at Alea last night. Meh.

Went to the Riverboat afterwards to play cash. Unfortunately there was only a £1-£2 game on Still finished up £90 so better than nothing.

Might play the turbo 2morro night at the Alea then join a cash game after, is there a 0.5/1 game running at the riverboat ? better to play cash at alea of riverboat ? not rolled very well for the stakes of live cash but feel like taking a little shot.

Last time I went to the Riverboat it was a Wednesday night and it was just the usual 200NL game that was on. I don't know if they actually do a 100NL game on other days though. From past experience, there's likely to be more action at the Alea though.

I doubt it was me. I've only really had one brutal night playing cash there where it was rivered flush > set all in on flop, top 2 < flopped set.

Must have been tourny then Go through spells of playing like a ****** admittedly. I'll pm a pic Then you can tell me my ****** plays

Do games run all the time or just towards the end of the week heading up to the weekend? What were you playing 1/2? was there more than one table and what time mate?

Every night usually - there's been one every time I've been anyway. Yeah it was 1/2 NLHE - there was only one table open with a short waiting list but I've been before when there was 2 tables and a waiting list to get on them. There will definately be a lot more action on a weekend.

I ended up going quite late (maybe arrived just before 11pm so everything was well underway) as I was playing a tournament at the Maybury in Edinburgh beforehand. Their tourneys start registration at 7 and then play starts at half 8 so I imagine there would be a cash game kicking off around then - especially if there's no rake.

For Summer, the Alea's actually running cash games without any rake being taken 7-10pm Mondays-Fridays. They also have a jackpot thing running until Sunday where the highest ranked hand, using both hole cards, wins £1750 (i think). Prizes for 2nd and 3rd as well.

On Wednesday, quad jacks were 1st and I'm currently joint 2nd with quad 6s (K kicker but I don't know the other guy's kicker). Think 2nd was paying about £800. So hopefully I get a phone call on Monday morning about winning some more money
