Ended homegame around even after being down quite a bit. Had JJ > my KK near the start of our sng which didn't help as it pretty much crushed me.

oh ye just remembered i did something super redonkulous on sat aswell.. super tired playing some guy with a small stack, i have Q10 clubs board is like 9c6s4c pot is £20 he shoves £20 i call figuring 2/1 with 2 overs and fd is a no-brainer.. turn river are blanks i have queen high and the guy looks to flip over his cards and as he does this i throw my hand into the muck saying 'you got it' (stupid i know, was super tired) and he flips over 57 for a missed draw and dealer ships the pot to him.. ****ing awesome.

I don't know how you guys can play the donkaments in Glasgow lol, I love the extremely ill informed strategy chat you get from the old crowd in the Alea it puts me on life tilt.

If you guys are worried about money management and are playing the £1/2 games I can't recommend the Riverboat enough there is a couple of super regs in there (have their own tea mugs etc) with seemingly bottomless pockets and no real grasp of NL, its worth playing in that game for those guys even if there is only one in the game.

If i couldnt beat that game I would eat seven hats.

Is there any bigger buy in tournies £50+ coming up over xmas ?

Alea has a £100fo this Sunday, 3pm start 15k stacks but not entirely sure of blind structure. They usually do this once a month. Cash games will be very juicy afterwards.

In general, the cashgames around the city are ridiculously soft, as most of the older players tend to be super exploitable and very easy to read + a ton of scared money out there. You get guys playing with only the deuce they bought in for and nothing else which is great.

I'm in Glasgow too, gonna hopefully play some tourneys over Christmas, will probably be checking out the Alea. Has anyone been to the Mint casino on Sauchiehall street?

The Mint, imo, is awful.

Alea and Gala Merchant are prob the 2 best. Cincin's on monday nigths can be pretty good also, but better for cash.

Homegame myself tonight. Looks like I should be in a job within the next few weeks, but need to wait on some checks. Crap having hardly any poker money.

went last night, bubbled FT, missed other freeroll tourny with like 3k pot i was reg'd in with extra chips for gud finishes cause i thought it was next week and couldnt win a flip in the cash game, got sick coolers like 2nd nut flush on 10 j q k 4 boards n stuff, somehow only down 150 should be down bout 1500 the way i ran. happy with how i played so w/e gonna play some on stars from now on i think, b&m is too disgustingly boring with tiny hands per hour and expenses and travelling and belligerantly drunk people slowing down games n shiz.

mate wins £100 on scratch card, i buy 5 and cant win the minimum. sick life.

this day might have been the worst in a long time if i didnt get a double whopper meal on the way home.

I tried a 3-barrell bluff on old Rocco about 5 years ago in the Cincin tourny. The bold Rocco sighed before calling my last shell on the river and took ages to show his middle pair on mega wet board lol (I wasn't beating that btw). Glad to hear the big man is still playing.

Is there any PLO games spread in Glasgow?

The only Omaha game in glasgow is the six card O at the cincinnatti which is a session of bingo. I do think it would still be mega profitable to play and learn the ins and outs of this game though because theres a tonne of money in it.

Don't know if that still applies as I've never played there, but here's their phone number if you want to give them a call.

Dont tend to post too much on here, rather view the forums than post.

But, great to see comments on the "regulars" at the MC.

Jeff, that you speak of - I was forced into the cardinal sin of calling the clock on him (despite not being involved in the hand with him) - when he was purposefully contemplating a 5k raise on the river, with just King high, for a full 3mins + (this despite having a 140k stack - and the action going check/check the full way to the river). Infuriating player.

It's astonishing how poor the field is at the MC, it's ultra-embarrassing/tilting to be put out early doors - your own play does get dragged down playing in that donk field.

Can count on one hand how many good players actually play, out of the regular 40-60 that buy-in.

It's just a shame that there isn't anywhere that's even border-line decent for standard.

The Alea's structure isnt the best imo.

The Mint's a dump inside and you never know what tournaments are when.

Which leaves the MC - which is full of fish/beginners/donks.

Just an FYI for you guys that at the beginning of March the Mint will host a £60 Satellite for 5 seats to the Irish Open 2011.

Any guys that need to fill a space in a home game, shout.
