The game use to be great a couple years ago, now its ok just depends on the line up and if certain people are tilting which can make or break it. Pretty normal to have 10k+ on table.

Wow... 10K... some nice rolls there.

I know I played in the cash game last Tues at the Eagles in Ft Wayne and I found it odd you could buy in for 500 on a 1/2 game..... well 20 min into the game and I found out why.. people going crazy shoving 70 -100 bucks on a K high lol...

Whoops forgot about this thread for a sec. Corrections though. It use to run Wed sometimes a while back, but now its just Monday for the most part. I might be getting the story wrong. Monday for sure though. The player pool is small so they can't run it more than that. Starts evening time, I never start the game but its running in full by 8pm usually. Also its not super normal to have 10k on the table, but its not unusual, on a sick sick night 15k-20k moving around. Those nights are a lot more rare. I expect to see 5k on table though when I go. Majority of people end up sitting deep or stuck deep so 10k will happen more here than at a big casino because of the nature of flow. The game can be hit or miss, but a lot of times its a hit imo.

I love the 500 buy in structure at the 1/2 game. If only they had a low rake it would be amazing. That game is not unusual to see 3-5k at the main game and across 3 tables definitely breaks 5k. Sometimes I don't understand where some of the player pool get their money from. The game plays bigger than typical big casino 1/2s.

From what I understand home games are somewhat risky, because they do get busted. They are in direct competition with the established charity casinos. And certain charity owners are...semi-shady and don't stand for illegal competition.

Their 'posted' hours are noon to midnight, but they usually get a table running by 10 am.

I think they go as high as 20% on some pots (with a cap on the rake per hand, but I don't know what the max is per hand). It is the main reason that I don't play in these charity games very often, but when you gotta play and only have a couple hours its the only thing we have in fort wayne!

20%???? U gotta be kidding me!

Cant we set up a charity game which supports the legalization of online poker and takes only 5%

the rake at the eagles is 10% capped at $8 plus a $2 jackpot drop. it's definitely high, but the game is so soft it's easily beatable even with the rake.

Going from pure internet play when I started to learn how to play to playing LIVE at firekeepers on a non frequent basis I have to say the following.

The players at the Eagles : some are good and some are huge fish. Now we all know the fish factor is good if you dont tap the tank. However, I have made some horrible laydowns that would have won me huge pots because some of these people are soo loose its sick. I now play at least once a week there ( work provided ) . There as some good people at that location who are friendly patient. As I continue to learn I am sure it will be easier to NOT lay down thus dragging more pots LOL. I will continue to go there. Hell this week I think I will be there Sunday and or Tuesday.

So if you know a good deal about poker, odds and math then you should do just fine there. Note * there are some good players down there but they are few and far between. I am a novice and have no problem stating it. However, I know when I am WA/WB.

Firekeepers on Friday, home game on Sat, Eagles on Sunday and eagles on Tuesday. Going to be a good weekend. If you are new to the Eagles do not be afraid to ask if you have any questions. The rake seems heavy but with 500 dollar buy in's and people going ape **** with K high you can make a good bankroll there as well.......... O one more thing. There are some people down there that would call Jesus off the cross so beware of that factor as well.

Wow, thats like a lifetime of poker for me since online disappeared. Good luck.

I have noticed that they are mostly tight when betting/raising, but will limp/call with ranges that are redic. I had a guy who was limping every hand and willing to call a raise to $20 every single time. I saw him show down hands as bad as T3o.....just typing this makes me want to leave work!

I cannot find anything regarding news or info for Ft Wayne or northern Indiana so I will start a place. Understand it is new so be patient but I think good things will come of it.

bump....Fort Wayne local here. I have a home game that runs just about every Fri night. no rake dealers choice (involves a lot of NLH, PLO, and lots of variations of the 2) I am also looking for more games and maybe a couple new players for my game. I'm going to be checking out the Blufton rd scene again soon as I hear they have a $1-$2/$10anytime O8 game that runs there. PM me or just post here if you have a game or w/e

(been at this for years just don't post here much)

They most certainly do not have that O8 game on Bluffton road. Or any Omaha game. What they have is a ridiculously heavy $500 max 1-2 game that plays like a 2-5.

Interested in a regular home game. Looking for a NLHE/PLO game. $.25/.$50 or something of that size. Fort Wayne area. The pub rake and BBJ drop sucks IMO.

Make that 2. I'm interested in the same type of NLHE game anywhere near the Ft. Wayne area.

Coach Redd,
Kinda frustrating but not many 2+2ers in FW and ones that are prob not interested in a micro stakes games. I'll keep checking back and hope someone else replies.

I am just north of Ft Wayne and travel to Bluffton Rd ... around once a week for the tourn then the cash games.. I will say this.. the 500 buy is makes people play in some strange styles..... good training I guess ?? LOL...

At any rate... .25 .50 .. NLHE I can work wtih as well... show me as interested.

I was THINKING about purchasing a table to get some " home " games going.. no rake ....... cash NLHE or Tourn.

I'd be interested in anything BUT NLHE ... sigh .. the sad part about Ft. Wayne, is that it isn't very friendly for those of us who like to play Limit poker for fun's sake. I for one don't like it when I can lose my entire stake in one fell swoop.

I am interested in any game limit or PLO or no limit. I enjoy playing all variations, 7 card stud and 7 stud 8 or better low stakes. I am interested. Hope this gets legs

I go to Trine University in Angola, which is about 40 minutes north of Fort Wayne and was wondering if there are any rooms closer to me than Fort Wayne I could go to? It's hard to justify driving 40 minutes every time just to play 1/2 NL. Is there a room in Auburn or maybe somewhere like that? Thanks

I'm in for NLHE and pot limit. Have a game every other Saturday with 5-6 older players. No raking just fun. Looking for commited players that want to play and will show up on time for .50/1. Will vet in person. Want to mix it up with Christmas Tree, Good Bad and Ugly amongst others games. Send a PM if interested.
