Yes. Ive been able to use an iPad at certain times... Only in Motor City though. Some people might complain if you slow the game down. iPods are allowed though.

Greektown allows Ipods as well.

MotorCity and MGM both allow iPods and cell phone use at the table, Greektown only allows iPods because it is clearly inferior to the other 2 casinos

2Black9s,
Which hospital did you go to after you got hit by the bus?
Are you ok?
Was that you on the news trying to blow up a casino? I mean school.

False. I was at greektown last week and had my cell phone out at the table. As long as you aren't slowing action or being a dick and answering calls, it isn't an issue.

Anyone play the 2/5 at MGM tonight? I was the guy wearing an MSU t-shirt. I was in the 2 seat then moved to the 5.

Detroit receiving. I'm getting a lot better, thanks for asking. Luckily the bus wasn't going that fast, but still enough to make me fracture my shoulder. Doctor says I should be fine though.

The only casino I would consider blowing up would be greektown. I heard they had a fire in the garage there a few weeks ago and I thought all my dreams were coming true.

Wow, you got hit by a bus? Literally? That sucks, man. Glad to hear you're doing good. Was it the drivers fault? Hope you got some compensation!

Whats your beef with greektown? I have been there a few times and never had an issue.

I saw IFlopThaNutz looking for empty bottles at the local charity rooms. Throw him a quarter or two if you see him....he just needs $1 for the rebuy....

Yea, it was a hispanic bus driver, couldn't speak much english.

As far as greektown. Dirtiest casino I have ever seen, low dark ceiling, hard to navigate, incompetent staff, rude dealers, cashier is beyond ridiculous.

Greektown has the most incompetent floors ever. Its kind of like people driving buses into people.

Playing at the Electric Stick tonight. Ill be in shorts and a blue striped shirt, black bag, tigers away hat.

How are the 1/2 games on weekends at MGM? Do a lot of fish buy in for the $300 max, or is it mainly a bunch of shorties? Haven't been there in quite a while, but I seem to remember only 1 table running in the day during the week... I've mainly been playing at Motor City lately

Even the regulars are terrible so not sure what you mean by "fish". The 50-300 structure is much better than the 50-200 at greektown and the games are generally deeper. There seems to be less people who will rebuy 5 times for 50, no idea why though.

Electric stick is the worst possible choice for cash games out of most of the charity rooms (in fact all charity rooms in westland suck for cash)

Go play at Docs or Northville.

Most likely heading out to royal oak in a few hours to check out the dream cruise.

Any decent poker rooms around there?

Ive played at every charity room within 20 miles... I dont mind the Sticks cash games, just hate that they start super late. You are right the ones at Docs and Northville are much better.
Ill rate, for cash games, my list for all the games I've played in, charity wise. Maybe that'll ignite a small discussion.

1. Northville
2. Docs
3. Heidelburg
4. Electric Stick
5. Roundtree (I hate the people here, but the play is lol bad, so it had to make it this high)
6. Vision Lanes (I hate everything about this place.)
7. Trip Kings (The cash game isn't poker, its 20-100, so dont waste your time.)

They might play a little deeper but to be honest I think the vast majority of the people do not buy in for the full $300, and you will just about never find a complete fish buying in for $300. Most people that buy in for $300 are waiting to get into the 2-5 game and end up moving within an hour. I've honestly been very tempted to play the 2-5 game many times because most of the players that in the game seem pretty terrible. I've always loved how they call it the "big game" when it all it is is 2-5.

I have always found a great deal of regs at MGM, many of who play there every day and refuse to play at any other room. My experience has always been they have more old, nitty regs than the other 2 rooms. The types of players who fold every hand and then open for $30 with jacks and greatly over bet pots.

As a side note, I have also noticed that MGM has the highest population of arabic/caldeian players which by nature, tend to be very aggressive and get very pissed when they start losing (hopefully not a racist ban).

Also, played Electric Slick last night with Roma for the first time. Pretty nice room overall and I was surprised by how many people they get in that tournament. They had well over 100 people in 7pm $35 buy in. I was at a table where everyone seemed to know each other and they all were beyond terrible. Amazing how players are so incompetent when it comes to making changes neccessary to be a good tournament player. They make 6x raises, limp for 20% of their stack, etc. Really bad players. But of course, the 20% they take from the prize pool is the great equalizer in terms of EV. So if you're willing to accept the fact that the variance is very high in these and you are probably at best very slightly over break even in these games in the long run, than this is a good tournament to try and bink a big score for very cheap.

Racist Ban please.
I kid.
There are a lot of regulars at MGM, but they mostly suck balls. Most people dont ever buy in for 300. But, I do think that more people buy in full, or close to full, at MGM than at MCC. Maybe thats just me. I dont know.

Alright anyone interested in trying to get a mixed game going again? I will handle all the organizing details if we get enough people interested.

Anyone want to clarify what happened with the last mix game that got organized on here and why it fell apart?
