Any one at that $300 tourney in Toledo today? How much is first place?

I take it they must of sold out as they have long waiting lists for cash games.

Good to know. I figure their will be some juicy action once tournament tables start busting down and they can open up more cash so I'll probably head down there in a few hours.

It was packed last night. At least 10 1/2 tables, the board only showed one 2/5, but there were 1-2 3/6 limit, a 3/6 O8, and they got the 1/3 RxR going.

I'm not sure that the board or the Bravo app was correct throughout the night, they were having trouble with the system where putting anything in was taking a 30 min delay, so I think the staff stopped bothering.

Holiday weekends are strange but usually draw a lot of randoms to casinos while those charity rooms can suffer. That is definitely a lot of players for the typical Sunday night in Toledo.

I see they got a table of 1/2 limit holdem on bravo right now which is such a waste to even spread that game when they don't have many tables available for cash due to the tournament today.

I don't think 1/2 limit holdem should ever run in a casino let alone qualify for a BBJ it seem when the jackpots get high you would get a lot of cheap old people playing that just hoping they get in a BBJ hand.

Oh of course, it's easily the busiest I've seen it down there.

The 1/2 limit showed up on the board last night too, but wasn't running. The dealer I asked told me that it never runs. I'd assume that someone just hit 1/2 on the Bravo screen instead of 1/2 NL.

11k for first. next tourney like this on Columbus day, Oct. 8

I guess the summer of boutrous is over! blinds 200 400 w/ 50 ante. i have 23k utg w/ AA. i make it 1250. folds to bb, he calls. he maybe 26k. flop J 9 2 rainbow. he checks, i bet 2100. he makes it 5k. i call. turn 3. he bets 7k. push here? yeah maybe. i just call. river is a jack. a jack i said. he is all in, i have 8700 left. ugh. so sick. worst thing when i call and he shows J10 is someone at the table asks me if I have a nine. really? in your expert opinion there you think i have a nine?

anyway, gl to those still in.

Horrible river card. I guess you could push the turn and I probably would since it's only 8700 left which he calls with his hand regardless but as played can you ever find a fold on a jack river?

That comment from him just shows how ignorant he is and reiterates how the majority of players are never thinking about what you have just they have top pair so surely it must be good?

Ran my 26k at break coming back to 500/1500/3000 blinds up to 58k without a flop. Then guy raises to 8k and I flat. He checks dark and I shove 50k and he snaps asking if I have hearts.. I sure got the call I wanted ..

Just got back from the tourney in toledo. Busted in 28th or something like that. Nothing exciting. Had 5bb and shoved A9s into QQ. Spiked an ace on the flop but the dreaded river brought a queen. Wanted to shove a couple hands earlier but action forced me to fold. Erg.

Thoughts:

I don't think I will be going back to Toledo to play in a tournament any time soon. The structure is absolutely outrageous. Standard ante is 1/3rd of the small blind, which is pretty ridiculous. Should be 1/4 or 1/5. in 5 hours we were at 3k/6k with 1k ante. Avg stack was 82k I think? Very much like a standard $30 charity tournament. No reason to drive an hour and risk $300 on a crapshoot when I can do it locally for much cheaper.

Dealers are insanely terrible. They couldn't do simple math. I.E. if you put 5k chip in for a 1200 blind they will fumble until you tell them it is 3800. Antes also slowed down the game a ton. I think once antes were in play, we averaged 5 hands per level. When the ante was 300, there were multiple times where I would put out a 500 and dealer would give me 300 back. Had to correct the same dealer 3 hands in a row. Maybe being honest is a leak I need to work on :P? The amount of cards exposed was in the double digits as well.

The players for the most part weren't that great. Maybe a tad better than a regular charity player. The first table I was at was probably the most solid. Very little open limping and not too passive. Once I got moved, it was like being back at NVD or Snookers. 3-4 limpers per hand, flat calling an all in when it is half their stack and action left, etc.

If they fixed their structure up a bit and made dealers pass a basic math aptitude test, I think it would be a pretty good monthly tournament. As is, though, it just isn't worth it.

Up at soaring eagle for a couple hours. Probably one of the only places around with just as many limit games as no limit.

2- 3/6
2- 1/2

Edit: I should add there is a tournament going on as well. Looks like they had 70 runners.
