I am amazed how many punks have their life savings at the table and mouth off with impunity. They obviously have very little positive going on in their lives.

A kid went way over the line with me last night and would have been bitch slapped in the old days.

Why doesn't the floor penalize, warn, or toss for this kind of behavior?

Probably bc of all the competition and they don't want to lose any customers. IMO having so many options to play is hurting everyone.

Gotta love degens/tools/lolpeople, I play in a homegame and only the worst/degen kind of ppl at it mouth off and i've seen similar at the casinos. basically what i'm trying to say is that the ppl that are talking smack are usually just a joke of a person.

I agree. He was a punk in every sense of the word - bragging about his GED.

The more pleasant the experience the more casual players. That would be great for the game. They should enforce a level of civility that would attract more players.

When i started playing in my homegame there was a huge fish, ppl called him ATM for god sakes, and he got really mad at me for something dumb, i used to get mad but now i just tune him out really, any word thats more then 2 syllables long gets a bit hard for him to pronounce.

I use Sony NCs, and I agree that they're one of the best purchases I've ever made. When I wear mine all of the background noise from the other tables, room music, slots, etc just goes away. But I have very little trouble hearing people speaking at the table.

That being said, I almost always pop them out when I get into a hand for more than a single raise. I never want to miss or misinterpret a verbal "call".

Whats the action like at Docs? Couple cash games? Whats the turnout for those $100's?

I might check this out today:

What: $100 Buy-in Deep Stack Tournament, 25,000 start chips, 30 min blinds
Where: Momo’s Poker Room, 5841 Telegraph Rd, Taylor, MI
More info: 313-492-2692

Momo’s Charity Poker Room Taylor, MI
Pretty sure this is a new room. Anyone been there yet? Really kind of a haul for me but i'm itchin to donk around in a tournament and can never make it out on Sundays to snookers for the $100 (which is probably the best tournament around :/)

Went to BBT 2 saturdays ago for a 1pm donkament, get there ~12:50 and there was no one there except the charity guy sitting in darkness, the owners hadn't even arrived/opened the room yet..lol.

I've also been wondering about "Ultimate Sports Bar" (aka Plush Pockets in Warren). Anyone play here ?

FT the Cada's 7pm last night. 39 runners. Finished 4th. Missed some opportunities, when 6 way at FT but it was my birthday and drunk so I can't be too mad, good times. Nice room. Called snookers to ask about late entry at 630. They tell me you have 2 levels to register (7:40). I drive out from Royal Oak, get there at 7:15 and this lady is like, we have 27 alternates, if you didn't call your not gonna gey a seat. I'm like Wtf, I did call, asked about late entry, and no one mentioned you could call ahead... Very disappointing. Thanks for the b-day present Snookers! Glad Cadas is just down the road or no birthday poker for me.

Agreed. It's weird because I can often hear people better on the other side of the table with the headphones on (and music off)

I'm not sure if they have wireless or not. They retail for about $300 or more but you can find them on craigslist for $130ish.

I have had the same problem. Snooker's success may have outgrown their space.

I've heard they don't get much of a turnout for those $100's at Momo's. The room isn't all that new I'm not sure when it opened but it's been around a while.

I hate to say this but Snookers is prob the best place for tourneys. They always have a ton of people registered.

The Sunday $100 use to be a consistent MTT... not sure how big it is anymore tho.

Skip the $100 at Momo's. It sounds like a deep stack tourney, but the blind structure is terrible.

Taylor Lanes puts on a good $100 buy-in once a month and Cada's $100 Saturday tourney is a great structure.
