QT is only a part of people's ranges and aces are only a tiny minority of the possible turn cards, so you can't beat yourself up for it. Flatting seems viable and i would probably do it at the table, when i'm not in 2+2 "I'm in Sunday School so the right answer to the teacher's question must be 'Jesus'" mode.
1)lol
2)flatting is lighting money on fire.

You can do this playing three omaha hands, two holdem hands and one omaha and so forth
sounds like playing at 4 Aces hahaha. Gamble Gamble.

Me personally I'm on a 80 session losing streak. Thank god for my trust fund.
OMG i would have killed myself by now. Thank god for Carbon. I cry when i have 2 or 3 loosing sessions.

Good Luck to anyone playing at the snookers $250 tournament. I wish i could play but i am not going against proper bankroll management this time. Unless someone wanted to stake a +EV player. 80/20 no make up. ..
Last time i played i got to the final two tables and pushed 9bb w AKs only to lose to AJ0s. That is poker.

Nah,
Just tweets, not much of a writer Lol.

The first $250 tournament is sold out but they will run late registration and fill 3 tournaments if needed.

I know some of our 2plus2ers will be playing cash at Cadas Room 5pm If I'm not too tilted after busting this tournament I will stop by and say what's up.

Re: Detroit

can't make it to snookers today. really wish i could. gl to those playing.

played in taylor last night. 62 runners. down to 30, i've got 300k. (100k starting stacks) bb is 10k. middle position, i've got kings, i make it 28k. guy goes allin for less. bb calls. J92, 2 hearts on flop. bb goes all in. (he has 400k). this guy is a weird player. at the beginning of the tourney he was fumbling chips, throwing out the wrong colors, betting out of turn... i would have bet $ he would be knocked out early, seemed like maybe it was his first live tourney. by and by though, he kept overbetting pots and people not having the nuts were folding to him. anyway, i call, he has A10 of hearts. dealer was kind enough to give him his flush on the turn so as not to get my hopes up! would have been top 3 in chips for sure. oh well!

Re: Detroit

The AQ Tournament:
Honestly, I kind of run like **** with AQ and have become not a very big fan of the hand, but I try to not let that influence my play with it. I end up getting it somewhere around 8-10 times in this tournament last week.

Very first hand: AQs < 77; UTG+1 pf I raised 3x w/3 callers, whiffed but cbet 1/2 pot w/2 callers, ends up checking to river. I might have been able to take it down had I kept barreling but I didn't feel like bluffing off my stack yet (like I had done the day before within a few orbits.)

Second hand: AQo > KK; UTG this time I raised 4x, got 3bet by button and I flat. I flop an ace, check check, blank turn, I check raise and I bet river where villain folds KK face up.

A few others:

AQo < 37s; this was last hand before break, I had raised preflop and got a few callers. Flop is AAx with 2 clubs. I check/raise which gets flatted. Turn is a third club, check check. River is a blank and I bet into it and villain calls, turning over 37cc for the flush, sheesh.

AQo > QQ; this is after first break, I raised pf, guy 3bets, I 4bet all in and the ace hits the turn ftw.

Later I get AQ again and open 4x. Villain shoves, one caller so I opted to fold. Villain had KK and held up, I would have missed that time (was same villain as second hand AQvsKK.)

I got AQ a few other times that I raised pf with no callers. Was pretty surprising how often that hand came out this day. I end up building a good stack at the FT but inevitably bubbled, boo that. I had called a short stack all in with A9 that ended up being against J2 and fell short to an A22 flop. I tried eliminating another short stack all in when I was BB, a shove got no callers to me, I had Q3s and decided to flip for the elimination but his KQo held.

The 2 Snookers tournaments are about to start. They are both full giving $5k to first. They decided not to run a 3rd tournament. Anyone here?

Re: Detroit

Check out my post under Poker Theory in General Poker discussing the 5 mistakes losing players make. I would love to hear the theories and opinions of other Detroit players. After all you guys are the ones I am learning these things from!

Hope to hear from you,

5k, nice payout. Good luck, wish I could play in it (work). Remember- play conservative early, one big hand every hour, one win every blind increase, and don't try to bluff big stacks or short stacks.

Good luck! Would love to hear from winners of this event.

Re: Detroit

don't bluff medium stacks, either. those are the ones with the greatest incentive to play big pots.

Yes, they are running antes, the structure is the same as all the other Snooker tournaments except with antes. We started at 25/50 but good structure means nothing to these donkeys anyways. Only 15min into the tournament and someone already shoved all in for 30k into a 3k pot. These guys have no idea how to play deepstack poker.

Payouts seem kinda weird. We have 60 players for $250 each with top 6 getting paid.

$5,000
$2,700
$1,800
$1,200
$800
$500

What do you guys think? Is it top heavy? Also, look at the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
