Played at MCC yesterday for the first time in forever. Won $450 at the 1/2 NL game. Wait list was 47 when I called in, took a little under 2 hours total. I saw the list get above 80 at one point. I think they also had 4-5 tables of 2/5, a PLO, and a 5-10-20 NL game.

Game was very loose passive. People just trying to hit the BBJ which is at 566k. Never really understood how people let the BBJ control their life and the way the play. It's so damn rare to hit that thing. I used to play 10 tables at a time online and in my 15 years playing poker I think I have seen quads over quads once. To camp out in a poker room for that is just senseless. Nonetheless, this one of the few weekends when my girl is away and I'm not busy with anything else so I might be back there tonight. Let me know if anyone else is up there.

I'm going to hit up MCC tonight unless mgm gets 2+ 2/5s going. I'll post up once I end up somewhere.

Yea, the BBJ hunting has never made sense to me. Given the choice between rooms downtown, sure I'll go where the jackpot is higher. But it's not enough on it's own to get me to go grind it out all day long playing a BS strategy.

Although it *is* a lot of fun to exploit the chasers when it gets like this.

Hate the crazy list though.

Yea. I called into to MCC yesterday showed up after 55 mins and was 15th on 2/5.so I left and went to mgm where 2/5 and 1/2 both were open seating. I'm surprised that people aren't heading to mgm rather then wait 2 hours for a seat. MGM needs to do some promos or something to get people over there now that they expanded.

Sitting at 2/5 must move at motor. 1.5 hours from calling in to seat.

GT last night.

$37 preflop raise and one caller.

Flop AK10 two Ds.

Check and PF raiser tanks for a while, the other guy tells him not to get crazy.

Guy shoves ($300+, the other guys goes berzerk ($400+) and tells him what an idiot he is and folds.

Shove AA, beserk KK.

No BBJ attempt for us.

Heckling for the rest of the night.

MCC was good last night. Had 5 2/5s running. Most of the same regs as always. Got in couple big hands where a reg couldn't fold top pair when I hit set on turn, and he shoved into my river bet. And then some other small hands and value betting. Made a buy in(800) in 4 hours so it was good night. I'll probably be back Monday night as we off Tuesday.

When did MCC switch the 2/5 to a $800 max buyin? Is that pretty standard now? I can't image most are buying in for more than 5?

I played two ~4-5 hour sessions at MCC this weekend and won about $700 at 1/2. I think I'll be playing 2/5 from this point forward as I had to look myself in the mirror and realize that I am a grown man and not a child anymore. Even though I suck at NLhE cash games at least I can have some dignity.

They switched mabye 3-5? Months ago. Most are still buying in 3-500. Yea I mean honestly the 2/5 is so much better. The players are just as bad or worse and every mistake is magnified. I started buying in 300. As I got more comfortable I upped it to 4-500. Now I'll do between 5-8 depending on stacks and players.

Is MCC a better place to play at than MGM, thinking about heading up to Detroit today? do they have PLO or just hold'em?

Mgm will have at least 1 1/3 PLO going. Motor should have at least a 2/5 PLO going, I don't keep up with PLO so maybe even 5/10. I'd call up both rooms and get current info on what's running and get on lists before heading down especially for Motor as list are crazy busy with bad beat right now.

Does anybody else find the concept of eating at the poker table completely disgusting? Think about how dirty those chips and cards are. I mean, like a quick snack, something like peanuts or whatever is perfectly acceptable. But I've always found people who bring entire meals to the table and eat when it is their turn pretty disgusting. For that, the greasy pizza has kind of been a turn off to me to at MCC. This weekend one guy brought over a stack of pizza, potato chips, cole slaw, and soda to the table. Like you really can't take 10 minutes or even 30 minutes if you are that hungry? End rant.

Yes, touching chips and then touching your food is disgusting. I don't see how peanuts are any better than an actual meal though.

Either way, you have two hands. So it's easy enough to wash them, then eat with one and play with the other. I do it fairly often. Or use a fork.

MCC was packed last night almost 100 on the 1/2 list and one point. 2/5 list was 30 deep when I called in at 630, got there 730 and waited 20 mins. So not to bad. Stayed till about 330 am. Made some big hands. missed some big draws(flush plus gutter for 1800 pot). Game was pretty good. Was in game for 1300 and managed to work back up for a 1k profit.

I've seen people sloppily eat BBQ ribs and hot wings at the table (w/ no silverware).

Quite savage.

I cringe whenever I hear the ->smack<- of them licking their fingers.

The guy folded a set of KK's? Why? Did the pf raiser showed his hand after he shoved?

Thanks, that's what I thought. Somehow strange though, considering the bad beat.

That's what I do. I'm hungry all the time and being hungry is the worst distraction for me when I'm playing. Just get chicken strips or something else that comes in pieces that can be easily speared with a fork, or get food during a tournament break and cut it up into manageable pieces before you head back to the table.

Eating at the table might be gross to a lot of people but their are worse things that happen all the time.

Think about all the people in this world that go use a public bathroom and don't wash their hands touching the door handle on the way out so you touch it after you've washed your hands. That disgusts me more!

They had like BBQ chicken or something on Saturday and watching people eat it was gross. People always attack that food cart like vultures.
