guy to my direct left, this guy... i played w/ him once before. drunk, belligerent, already getting into it w/ another player at the table. this guy's m.o. is to make huuuge raises to get people off hands. Seen him table air after one of these huge bets many times. when i see he's at my left, i immediately go into trap mode w/ him. i will try to find a spot where i am under repped, he will make a big raise, i will felt him. you could tell the other good players at the table were thinking the same thing. he had already been called light by a good reg for a big pot.
anyhow, i raise to 2k, dude calls, another caller. flop J102 two to a flush. I bet 3500, he raises to 8k, I reraise to 22k. (other player out) Now comes his big raise, to 80k. I'm thinking this is perfect. He has AJ at best, maybe some draw, air many times... I ship 190k. he goes in the tank, staring me down. I am good for sure. I would have bet huge amounts of $$$$ that I am good here. 3-4 minutes later, after fidgeting every which way in his seat, he puts a 1k chip out on top of his 80k but doesn't move/say anything. I'm like "that's a call, right?" to the dealer. Dude says "no, I'm still thinking, that's not enough for a call." wtf. He sees how anxious I am to turn my hand over and says "fine, that's bull****, but I call." I show, he turns over KK. twilight zone.

Things will start heating up at Firekeepers soon. MSPT coming to town with the $1100 ME set with 3 Day 1s October 13th (4:00PM), 14th (12:00) and 15th (12:00) with Day to on the 16th. There are Friday and Saturday satellites before the daily satellites start on October 7th. See MSPTpoker.com for all the details.

Firekeepers has expanded (knocked down the wall in) their poker room but doesn't have auto-shufflers in all the tables as of yet from the information that I have. So this will be a hand shuffle event each day until the number of tables drops down to the point when auto-shuffling can be used at all tables. This should create a better tournament experience and also help the cash games along during the early levels.

There is also the WSOPc being held at Horseshoe Hammond starting on October 13th with through the 24th.

So some very good structured tournament poker coming in Ocotber. GL

This is something that I don't get. The pettiness to slow roll/tank when you have the winning hand and there is no more action left. I mean, I suppose it could make another neanderthal go on monkey tilt but it just makes others see you as an ass.

Could someone give me the scouting report on Hollywood's deepstack tournament they run on Saturdays? Size, length, whatever else?

Well, with that win, the Tigers have guaranteed hammtown 1% of my eventual MSPT title winnings next month. First time I'll ever play a tournament without 100% of myself 😬

They better run the train on the rest of this season. With their schedule compared to Toronto and Baltimore's, I think they still have a very real chance of grabbing one of the wild cards.

I doubt it hit again with it at 170K but I just didn't see anything on here and hadn't looked myself either. I was on Bravo last night and MGM was touting the 'largest BBJ in Detroit' (at 370K) so I jumped on over to the MCC site to see if that was true. I must have missed any Tweets put out by MCC also ... no biggie ...

MCC needs to get bravo. I've heard the BS about not wanting to pay the licensing. But it fixes them yelling across the room like peasants to try to fill seats, lets them run the promos they're trying to do, and lets them pull any players from out of town that are simply going to check the ap and go to MGM.

When they're beating down your door why change? This is usually the worst thing a business can do .. remain complacent ... but until MGM or Greek Town really start putting a dent into the lists they probably wont spend the $$ when 'they don't have to' .. unfortunate since it really would help cut down on the phone calls, which can only help the floors.

On the flip side if you 'have' to call in then they can try to lure you into the room that night.

I love Milwaukee's (Potowatomi paysbig.com) system since it actually shows the names of the players waiting. Talk about a tool to bring people in if a few 'key' names show up on the lists!! Of course that means the wife might be able to see if you are on the list as well .. oops. It isn't Bravo either but at least it's something that you can look at. Other than scouting for fish I like the fact that you can see how many people are on multiple lists which really make the lists look longer than they really are of course. They are a 1-man show in that town though so folks really aren't going anywhere else if the lists are long. GL

They're already spending the money to build an "in house Bravo system" that they'll also have to pay to support and debug. Rather than buy a tested and supported product. Maybe the Bravo costs a little more, but it's probably worth the savings in hassle *AND* the advertising of showing up on the app.

Look how many times people come into this thread traveling from out of town asking about rooms. They check the app and see a handful of tables each at MGM and GT, but nothing from MCC.


I'm not sure why I bother saying anything to them though. All the poker in Detroit is poorly run and amateurish anyway.
