Are they willing to do a 1-2 or 1-3 RxR?

In for 300, out for 1500. I'll post a TR during my lunch break if I can figure out how to upload a picture.

I've asked about 1/2 PLO, they won't run it. They claim because lack of interest, from discussions I'd bet because less rake from fewer hands. 2/5 RxR is good fun though.

So 2/5 RxR is Tues/Fri/Sun?

Just Tuesday. The other days (including Wednesday) it's only PLO.

You would think with charities being closed, that greektown would step up and run a $50 nightly tourney just to get some foot traffic in the room.. I know Atari let me hear about it lol!

Interesting. I recently talked to the owner of the room in Muskegon. It was standalone and is currently closed, but will be reopening in two Muskegon locations, a sports bar and a bowling alley about 10 miles apart. I asked about tournaments, and he said that both tournaments and cash games will run at each location, starting on September 18. Perhaps he is betting that we will have relief from the courts by then.

This hasn't been discussed a lot, bet we've tossed around a lot of scenarios that will or won't allow the charity rooms to continue. I think one of the biggest issues is going to be having enough dealers. We already lost five to Gun Lake Casino is the last few months (where they don't even play poker, they are dealing blackjack and other games.) Dealers and other employees aren't going to stay forever in a situation where they don't know if they will be working from week to week.

The thing preventing most of the rooms from running tourneys at this point is that they can only run one charity per room per day. BBT is opened again for cash games starting today and said as much in their FB post.

Tuesday RxR TR:

Haven't done a TR in a long time so be kind.

Anywho, after weather gives me a big FU for setting up an afterwork tee-time, I have dinner and decide I still need some competition so I head down to MCC after confirming there was a good turnout.

Minor backstory. I used to play 2/5 full-time but now average 3-5 sessions/month so usually play 1/2 with the occasional 2/5. PLO I have some experience with, and have been biting at the chops to play, but hadn't as of yet because 1/2 isn't offered, only 2/5.

Anyways. I sit at 1/2 and grind for a few hours. A few drinks later I'm bored and decide to put my name on the 2/5 RxR and NLHE lists. I'm running up about 150 after a few beats and wins as I'm #2 on both lists.

Finally 2 hours later I get called for RxR. Quick top up to 500 and I'm in. It's NL when I sit and get 89 UTG, flop 2 pair, valuetown to the river where V makes a straight. Great, immediately down a couple hundred.

Next round Drawmaha. I take down a nice pot with 6699 after it potting pre and 4 people are in. My set held somehow by the grace of god (+200).

Quiet until the next round of PLO. I get 88TT and pot it, 1 raise to 50, 1 call, I call. Flop comes 3J6 diamonds. I've got two, but 0 faith my flush is good. Checks to the turn, another diamond. Then 2 AI and I fold (-50).

Skip ahead to NL, I get 88 in the BB and call a 15 raise from MP with 2 others. Flop comes K8K, board runs our 62. I check call down and scoop 200. Kind of weak play in hindsight, but whatever.

Later comes the first major pot during PLO. Hero gets KsQsT8 UTG+1. Limp/call 35, 5 way to the flop: 792 ss. C/c 100. 4 way to the turn: Q. SB pots, I call all-in, 1 other calls. River 6, SHIPPPPIT (1000).

A little while later hero wakes up with AsAQs3 UTG and pots it. 1 call, old guy repots. I think for a second, repot. The caller repots all-in, old guy folds I call. Board runs AK3JA, Shippity ship (700).

Hand of the night old guy gave the same guy two speeches in the same hand. "A penny saved is a penny earned" as V is contemplating a call, and still calls. Then goes all in and as V is contemplating says something like, "That's a lot of pennies". I died.

Overall had lots of fun, very lively game and will probably play it regularly.

Oh and chip porn:

I think BBT used to run one, or a RxR? Or maybe it was PLO8? They open back up today so you might want to give them a call to see if they plan on running it. if so, I might have to stop in there.

Anyone play BBT today? What time did the chips run out? (assuming they only have one charity).

BBT opened at noon. I played from 12:30 to 5:30 for a small profit. When I left they had sold 7,900 in chips. Two full tables were running with four on the waiting list.

The room was kind of depressing. Half of the tables and chairs were piled up on one side. They only employee 8 dealers now. Three former dealers were playing.

NLH only I assume? No RxR, PLO, or PLO8?

Are the games noticeably worse with dealers grinding?
