I have always thought that there is higher variance in charity rooms compared to casinos.

Absolutely. Without question.

There is a lot of completely ******ed spewy play, but there are also negatives. The inability to table select in many rooms, the pure "you must hit a hand to win" reality of large fractions of the player pool without a fold button, and the limited hours are all issues.

When I look at my records, I get better hourly rates and lower variance in casinos that I do in charity rooms.

Charities can be that way. Any game that allows button straddles which most casinos don't and some charity rooms have no cap for the amount is going to bring extra variance.

Players in charity rooms I've played at contain a lot of very loose passive fish which if you make hands is great but good luck trying to move any of these people out.

With that said if you can make hands in that last hour of a charity room which depending on the table you may not need to be all that strong then you can make a lot of money in that time.

A few weeks back I jammed all in preflop with AK the last hand of the night which I got called by A7 and A9 for a pot over $600 and it held. I will take those odds all day long.

You can play on a variety of sites that still accept US players. None of them are regulated like the Nevada and New Jersey sites. Check PokerScout front page for a list of US friendly sites. I would recommend Merge or Winning networks in terms of player pool size and current cash out times. Do NOT deposit on Lock Poker.

Beak, that was a true baller TR! Loved it. I like the TI too for the reasons you said (well not the platinum comps part lol). $600 for ****ing bottled water???

Would have been awesome if you'd hit that sports bet after taking your nap lol

Alright, so this may or may not get lengthy/boring, therefore there are pictures for those who do not prefer the written word and there is a screenshot of live notes I believe I took while certain events where taking place. Pictures are throughout and the screenshots is at the bottom.

A slight introduction for the trip; I only have the pleasure of knowing some of you IRL, some of you were unfortunate enough to hear my drivel on Frank's show; I apologize for that turrible analysis. Right now I guess I'm a 2/5 reg and recovering degen in -EV games and a semi-nit in poker. Money lost its value to me quite a while ago because we used to play some big games in the Boston area where I went to college. I have earning power in the real world so I don't really believe in BR management. My Asian degen friends I met in pharmacy school also love to gamble and are successful in business, so when we collide in Vegas it usually ends very poorly or very well.

Day One – Vegas Baby, Vegas

Its way to F'ng early. I packed the night before so I rolled out of bed last second and got on the road. When I picked up my backpack in the parking garage, I realized the shoulder straps were cut off...WTF? Why? Well, I guess I am checking my bag. So it takes me like 15 minutes to consolidate into a giant checked bag and I ended up throwing clothes and that backpack away, surprised really that TSA didn't form tackle me.

We land and I realized I forgot to call TI for my freaking car. It's not that big of a deal, having them pick me up just makes me feel baller. So that sucks. **So before everyone is like "TI sucks, its ghetto, blah blah blah," I will address the issue. We've always stayed there and essentially live for free like super whales for however long we want. The atmosphere is fun, it’s not uppity and most of the people are fall down drunk which provides for a good atmosphere. Also, our hosts are awesome and treat us really well so we keep most of our play there.**

My favorite part of check in, walking in here looking like a homeless man on a crack binge...

Superhot chick working desk and I’m like 4 hours early for check in, but it doesn’t matter. Feast on free cookies and pop because I’m obese and want to potentiate the image of being a homeless.

So my buddies don’t land till night, so I have all day to grind and drink. I can’t decide if I want to play cash or the aria daily or a Venetian Deepstack. My freeroll is tomorrow and the final table is Sunday so I could potentially play Venetian and the freeroll, but I’m lazy and let the cab decide. He said Aria, so off we go.

Bust the Aria tournament pretty quick with KK vs a flush draw allyin on the flop. The room was pretty dead, so I went back to TI start drinking more. I Registered for the freeroll, then

I strolled into there poker room and saw a full table of 1-3 with 500 max so I hopped in and played like Coach. I won 800 in like 40 minutes being a psycho and then decided to bet it (sportsbook inside poker room) on some random baseball game while I took a nap.

Woke up a loser, too bad. Friends have arrived in our connecting suites

with the party favors around 11pm and we proceeded to “Light.” The manager somehow knows my friend on a first name basis (or his bill I should say) and waived us to VIP in our t-shirts, jeans and tennis shoes. This was cool because it wasn’t a promoter or a club host, it was the actual manager. Then people started sizing me up asking if I was their security (only white guy significantly bigger than others). We sat with another group we knew and these dudes where like mega rich. Not like 400k/year rich, like DGAF about anything rich. They had the hottest Asian chicks I have ever scene and were partying like crazy. Didn’t get a pic, but I think there bill had to be in the 8k-10k range. We spent like $600 on bottled water again which is like the biggest scam on earth. And no coach, it didn’t come with a BJ.

Day 3 – Winner, Winner and BlackJack

The last time I remember was about 8pm talking to dragon trying to explain to him that An was crushing and some other gibberish. We all woke up abut 9:45am the next morning; we thought it was time to go out for the night and started getting ready. Whoops, its 945am and we are all still obliterated.

Here is my version of P4MS salad pic, $400 of room service.

An ran down to the tourney, he refused to wear the shirt we bought him for day 2, pansy.

We stroll down, all three of us can barely walk or keep our eyes open and An was barely better. We railed for a bit, but things picked up where they left off all the way to the final table. It was over quick with a win for our boy. Now, he played some big wig from TI (Ruffin couldn’t make it) and won that match in like 10 hands.

Took some cash, but mostly promo chips. Actually turned out to be plus EV.

Since we were all still annihilated, we pooled it up and got pretty drunk too. WTF right? Kid just shipped one for 60.

After we tried to eat pho, but we all passed out at the table and got booted. We decided to take a nap before he hit Blackjack. Plan was to wake up at 10pm and play until we had to leave. An woke me up at 2:30am, both other dudes had gone home to work next day. We went down and check changed ~50k. We started at 500 a hand and then just kept rolling. I was pressing, he was playing pretty flat. We won more hands than we lost, but we lost some huge doubles and 5k splits etc. Eventually we walked away.

nice TR young.

my TR from the $50 (or one bottle of water at the club) tournament i played last night:

just the last two hands.... hand # 204: (i didn't play this hand) player A raises pf 3x. player B calls. Ace Qd 2d flop. small bet by player A. B calls. Jx on turn. Player A shoves a lot of chips. player B tanks for a while. calls. i say to player A "Ace queen?" dealer says "gotta be Ace queen..." no, he has 9 10 off. player B has 9 10dd lol. river blank, they chop. Someone else says they thought player A had AQ. hand # 205: player A raises 3xbb, i'm in bb w/ AQhh. (fold pre, amirite?) i call. flop KJ10 rainbow. i check, he makes a smallish bet, i call. turn 10. i donk a mid size bet (we both have big stacks). he tank shoves, i call. he has....... AQ. i miss the river, gg.

Thanks dudes, I either accidentally edited out the part where a delivery service let us order tons of edibles and those were the driving factor in everyone's debauchery or it got sniped by rapini.

I think I forgot though because I forgot to write about a guy named baccarat master taking a 6 figure weekly loss and betting chips in colors I've never scene before.

Regardless of what any of you dolts say now, otter stamped it and that makes me feel like a champion.

Oh well, it's just a shame you couldn't make it to hand #206. Hopefully next time you will get to hand #250.

Just watched a guy (who's nickname is aptly "ATM") shovel $2k into a $1/2 game in under an hour. Only got into one spot against him with AK for $150 and a bunch of callers at $20 each, his 22 held up. The level of spew was fairly epic though.

These 3 are all the best right now in terms of cash out times and apparent liquidity. I still wouldn't deposit more than you are willing to lose in case they were to decide to close up shop or got shut down by the DoJ.

I played with an ATM Cleric once. We both cashed out $1200-ish at Doc's. We both broke even for the night.

He called about 98% of bets on all streets for 2 hours, & ended almost every hand with 2 pair or better. I had KK vs him on the last hand of the night. I didn't stack him cuz he got in my head. I 4 bet to $200 pre, which he called. $100 on the flop & turn, both called. Then we checked the river like little bitches. I flipped up my kings on the river, and he calmly mucked. I still kick myself for that hand.
