I have seen a smattering of threads about poker in Biloxi-Gulfport, but I'm not aware of an official Biloxi thread.

There should be one. It's a great town for poker, and a few of the regulars are even making big names for themselves. When the tourneys come to town, look out!

This is where you can post your views on a poker room, the games you play, stories about the good ol' Grand, crazy hands, gross or funny moments, thoughts on regs, your likes and dislikes about a particular casino, the best place to stay, best buffet -- whatever.

As for me, I play about twice a week (sometimes more) in Biloxi. My favorite room is the Beau, but I will dash over to the Hard Rock on occasion if I need a change of pace, and every so often I'll slide over to the IP and check out the action.

I play 3-4 days a week at the Beau and love it. I play 5-10NL if its running, but if not the 2-5NL game is always good. The tourney series that is upcoming looks to be fun and I am planning on playing a full slate of events (13 of them!)

There really should be more love for the Beau as it treats its players better than anywhere else in the country!

I only play at the IP during tourney series, and never really go to the Hard Rock or Isle of Capri. For me, all the action is at the Beau so why leave!

Someone told me that they no longer do time rake at beau rivage for the 1/2nl game.
Is this true? what is the rake $5+$1?

It is true and rake is $5+1 unless changed in the last few days.

kjunkid, I'm now starting to play about 3-4 times a week myself, mostly at 1/2, though I'll occasionally drop into a 2/5. Best of luck to you in the tourney events!

parisron, love that avatar. That's my favorite place to play in Vegas. And the stack in relation to "Aria" could not be more perfect. To be sure, 2/5+ at the Beau still does the time drop. Come on back. The games are always good.

How often does plo run? Limits?

I do the 350 and 235 on the Saturday and Sunday at the beginning of each money at the Beau Rivage. I wish I lived closer but a 6hour drive is a little too far to go more than once or twice a month. I am very excited about the Gulf Coast Poker Championship this weekend!

hollywood in bay st louis has the best 1/2 game in the south on friday and sat nights. go check it out.

How often does a 5/10+ nl or plo game go at Beau?

Every weekend. 5-10 NL uses MS Straddle, so the game plays super deep and super big

It usually runs once or twice a week. usually 5-5 blinds during the week, and 5-10 on weekends. Depending on who's playing, it can get up to 10-25 occasionally.

Hey biloxi grinders, I am thinking about coming down there for a month or two this winter (from boston) and would like to grind out 1-2 2-5 40+ hours a week. Does anyone know of a good place for a short term rental for January or february? Also, how far is the casino(s) from where the living would be and would I need a car? Nightlife and other advice is welcome too.

Hello every1...I am going to be in the Biloxi area for a couple weeks starting in January. I have been to Biloxi and the Beau many times. I have played Omaha8 at the Beau, but its been a long time. What casino has the best Omaha8 action? What are the Omaha8 cash table levels at the casinos? Do they run a weekly Omaha8 tourney anywhere in Biloxi?...I was going to ask about Razz , but I doubt there is any Razz Action in Biloxi...Thanks

There's a pretty regular -- for the weekend grinder, at least -- 10/20 O8 game with a half kill at the Beau. Not sure about tourneys or Razz.

I recently moved from CT (Foxwoods was the home room) to MS, looks like I'll be checking out the Beau this weekend. No max buy-in on 1/2NL? What's the avg buy in look like on a weekend then?

This might be too late for you, KB, but for anyone else the average buy-in is usually between $300 and $500, though some will buy in much deeper.

Is there any casino's dealing Stud or Stud Hi-Lo?
I have played at a couple places in FLA that do, but not Biloxi.

Anyone interested in starting a small stakes mixed game?

Planning a trip to Biloxi for the last week of March and have 3 questions:

1) Booked the Suburban Extended Stay hotel in D'Iberville. Is this an OK area?

2) Best $60-120 buy-in tournaments on Monday-Thursday?

3) Anyplace have non-HE limit games at $3/6, 4/8, or 5/10?

Does the Beau have a poker room rate? I am looking at potentially coming down one of the weekends in March. There was no info about it on the website.

I don't go to Biloxi much but I'll try to answer.

1. I've stayed at that hotel once, but the last few times I got better deals in Ocean Springs ($50-60 range).

2. According to their websites the Beau and IP give free entries to a few daily tourneys if you play 6 or so hours cash the day b4.

3. I've heard the Isle runs a 4/8 type mixed game but I don't remember details.

Can anyone confirm this?

Does any of the Casino's spread a 15/30 20/40 30/60 or 40/80 Limit Holdem or O8 game?

Beau rivage had a 15/30 omaha hi low last weekend. They usually have a 5/10 nl holdem every weekend. 2/5 nl holdem runs every day and plays really deep.

OK, it's not the Isle that runs the 4/8 mixed game, it's the IP.

The game is a rotation of Omaha, Stud, Omaha, Hold'Em, with ALL games being Hi/Lo (yes, even the hold'em). The Omaha and Hold'Em are 1/2 kill games with scooped pots of $48 or more.

The game runs every Tuesday and Thursday beginning at 8am.
