About me – I’ve recently been getting back into poker. Over my life I’ve played 1811 hours of ½ NLHE live with a win rate of just over 9 dollars an hour. Not great but not terrible either. I’ve been studying and I’m confident I can improve on my win rate. Now that I have some time off work I’m planning on playing 40hrs a week. Problem is I just moved to Long Island and the casino’s aren’t a short drive for me anymore.
I’ve been looking into which casino to play at in the Northeast and was wondering if you guys could help me decide on one. Foxwoods seems good, it looks like I’d be able to trade in comp points for gift cards for gas and groceries (free gas would be nice it’s a long drive). Rake seems a little high at Mohegan, does that pull enough pro’s off their tables making the softer games worth it? Sand’s Bethlehem seems ok, and its closer than AC or Philly. AC and Philly both have plenty of options but tolls and traffic would be a real PITA. Any thoughts on which one I should choose?
Also I’ll likely be staying overnight most of the time, since it’s a long drive. I’m wondering which of the above options would be best for getting the occasional free room. I’d only be playing ½ so I wouldn’t expect this from any of them at first but once I move up to 2/5 I’d like to start limiting travel expenses. Also do any of these casino’s have hotels in the 50 a night range nearby?
