Hey fellow GWesterners, I joined 2+2 today after reading some of the thread about Golden West Casino. My name is Steve and I'm sure I've played with all of you at some time or the other. Wassup David! I usually play 2/2 because of the sickness but I also show up in 3/5 and the Omaha 8 game when they look juicy...
First wanted to comment onChris A's game....here's a quick recap of the first and only game I went to at his house.
We sit down and its people that I all know from some place or another except this one guy, who is this shady grizzly looking dude from "out of town." We're like 7 or 8 handed and he suggests we play a couple of turbo tournies before playin cash. These were straight (I actually won one of them which helped me break even for the night lol).
Then the sickness ensued. As I usually do early in most cash games, I play pretty tight and get a flow of the table before I get my feet wet.before I played a hand, his buddy was up about 250 in a .50-1 game insanely coolering people and hitting 2 outers. I felt something was up but played anyways. I told myself I was only gonna lose 1BI. Somehow, I never play a huge pot with the guy for the following 6 hours but did if fact witness his $100 turn into about at least $1200 in this timespan. Then I flopped AK on and A56 board with him holding A10, ten on the river.
The funny thing is that my buddies who each lost at least $300 each had no suspicion of any cheating when I told them I thought something was up.
In fact, they actually went back and played a couple more times when they were invited back...
I wasn't 100% sure until I mentioned it to a fellow GWesterner who confirmed that Chris is notorious for hosting crooking games.
F'n despicable... I can't stand that dude.

It sucks you lost but I really think you get more value by raising smaller. Bill's calling range becomes tighter when u make it that big, and often will only give u action when he's got u by the nuts.

i know there has to be a few more. ive met a FTP guy who grinds $50-100 SNGs there, or used too i guess.

without knowing for sure i bet ive seen maybe 4-5 more guys id played with that either post about on 2p2 or post/lurk on another website like 2p2.

Mechanic John just bad beat Adam for an all in pot! 50 pre with 64o vs Adam's KK. John c/c's bottom pair and turns trips when Adam sends it in. Also, u gotta love bill's needling of Adam. Good stuff.

How deep? Who made it 50? What was action?

John limp/calls $50 raise by Adam. Then c/c's $65 on QT6. 6 on the turn and John c/c's Adam's shove for 245 (Adam covered).

Btw - we're playing HA right now (nl / PLO mix) at the 3-5nl table.

that's the kind of spazzy sh*t Adam does all the time, which is highly profitable vs players he doesn't know but since he will never, ever give me action (unless he has the stone nuts) I'm assed out. A move that's gets no vlue from lesser hands and only gets value from hands that have him crushed.

Axiom, to counter your iso- raising amount comments, here lies the inherent merit in opening to 7-10x after a limper like peter the little man or in this case john the mechanic, they're limp calling any amount, and you're putting yourself in a position to get FOUR streets of value. (VS me anyway, mechanic john is never folding any hand)

I wish I could play in tht. My PLO isn't tht strong but it's gotta be stronger then some of the people playing that I'm sure.

Then that's fine, if you're both 100bbs deep and your read is he is limp-calling a large raise then jack it up. The reason I dont get into that habbit is if i'm on the BNT facing 1 limper i'm isolating with hands as weak as 47 or Q9o, and it's harder to get myself to play those hands when my standard iso size is 7-10x, I could obviously just raise based on my hand but I think that risks my hand being more readable.

What you have to remember is that this is not some internet game where people are taking extensive notes or have a holdem manager. Even in the 3/5 game, but especially in the 2/2 game, you can get away with betting the strength of your hand - preflop especially - without worrying about playing your hand face up. Go ahead and iso smallish with ****ty cards and iso larger with your monsters. (1)Generally at these stakes, most people aren't paying enough attention to put you on a pattern and (2) you don't showdown enough for them to know if your bet sizing is telegraphing your hand. It seems to work for me, but then again, no one EVER gives me credit!

Oh ya...Love playing with John the Mechanic. Last time I played 3/5 with him he 3 bet/called with all-in for about $400 with AQ when I had KK. It was a huge over shove, but I was 95% sure he was calling with any hand he 3-bet there

bad beat from GW management again. the management stopped us from playing plo cuz "it's not on the spreadsheet". we can play omaha hi, omaha 8 or better, but since it is not specifically stated, we couldn't play "pot limit" omaha. i said, well why don't we just play NLO and make a gentleman's agreement to keep within the size of the pot. still no.

this is all after luis and i told him that we've played plo there in the past. ugh.

I've played PLO with Luis there before.
