I believe valet is the same price as parking in the garage. So whatever the garage is charging you, it will be the same for valet.

Heading back to AC, need some input.

Well long story short. First trip to AC ended after an evacuation of the city during hurricane Irene. After a 5 1/2 hour drive that morning, I spent 5 hours in the city before they evacuated me out, what a day.

So I got great rates and I'm staying at the chairman tower at the taj for three nights. My question is, where is the best games? I primarily will play $2-$5 nl but also play $5-$10nl depending on how I feel I'm playing that day. Play 5 days a week at Foxwoods and am looking for a good game in AC. I know the borgata is the best bet but how has the taj been lately? Any info would be great.

Ps. First post on the 2+2 long time browser just finally registered.

Re: Heading back to AC, need some input.

You probably won't find $5-$10 anywhere except the Borg. You can find $2-$5 at the Taj, but I'm not sure if they ever have $5-$10 NL going. They have a few higher stakes stud games spread most of the time.
You might find 1 $2-$5 table going at Caesars or Harrahs during a busy weekend or big tournament series.

Personally, I don't like playing at the Taj. Showboat isn't too bad if you're looking for a decent tournament.
If you gamble at any Caesars property (slots, table games), you'll usually start getting offers for comped nights during the week.
So if I'm using a room offer from Caesars, I'll stay at Showboat. They run 4 daily tournaments, usually ~$65 BI, with anywhere from 40-70 players. Plus they always have at least 2 $1-$2 tables going. Hope that helps man.

Yeah that is what I figured. I've been checking live game action on borgata and taj's website and it seems like taj is pretty limited in their spreads.

Really didn't feel like taking a cab back and forth from he borgata back to the taj. Thanks for the input. Have you played at the new nugget?

Borgata is the only option for poker IMO. I dont step foot in any other casino other then Caesars for the WSOP circuit events.

Looks like I'll be traveling back and forth then to the borgata. What's the biggest spread game there?

Has anyone from the Pittsburgh/Cleveland area traveled to AC by Amtrak train? Prices seem very reasonable.

Re: Atlantic City General Discussion

Hey does anyone know what tournaments are going to be running in AC this weekend?

Anything with a decent structure for less than $500?

Man you must play the $400 Tourney at Borgata this weekend ($350+$50). It will get the best turnout and will be the tournament to play in this weekend. It starts at 11 AM. By the way my brother is from Wilmington.

For NLHE I think it's 10/25, but for mixed games I believe they get 300/600 and 400/800.

Thanks for the advice...

It says that tourny is a rebuy... Do these play like online rebuys... like do ppl take tons of higher variance lines early and keep rebuying to get a big stack? I don't really wanna play knowing that I'm at a disadvantage because I don't really have a roll to rebuy that 3+ times. If not, then I'm probably going to play that one.

Does your brother still live in Wilmington?

No, they don't play as insane as online rebuys. There are some that will play a little more laggy than normal, but it's not that bad. There are still plenty that will only buy once and treat it that way.

Note that this is actually a re-entry tourney, not a rebuy. If you bust you re-enter the tourney as if you're just starting out... new stack, new table and you have to pay the entry fee again. Those tend to play a little more conservative then a regular rebuy.

It's not like an online one that you describe. You can't rebuy at the start to get double chips like an online rebuy. If you bust, you can rebuy in the first 4 levels (2 hours) for a starting stack. It doesn't affect play for the majority of players. In the handful I've played at the borgata, something like 20-30% of people rebought. So for a 400 person tourney, you might have 480-520 entries. And as the poster above said, you have to pay the entry fee again, which discourages people from going too crazy.

Re: Atlantic City General Discussion

Like stated before, it's a re-entry tournament and not a re-buy one. It's a little different and people won't be loading up their stacks by rebuying to add chips. I imagine some will re-enter but most won't after busting. I am playing this but not re-entering if I bust in the first 3 hours. I would treat it just like a normal tournament with no add-on or rebuys. It really is no different unless you intend to re-enter yourself. It's not going to matter at all just going to juice the prize pool a little bit more because of it. My brother still lives in Wilmington with his wife and daughter.
