Otherwise Caesars gives you the immediate access to the beach and boardwalk which is good to have for a 3 day trip imo. Harrah's is in what's called the Marina district, which does not have any real foot traffic (there are paths between the three casinos there, but nothing to see/do walking around). Taxi/ubers (does AC have uber?) between the marina and boardwalk should be $10-$15 I imagine so not too tough moving back and forth.

Definitely stay at Caesars not Bally's if you go for the boardwalk, significant difference in room quality as of 5 years ago and I'd be very surprised if that has changed. Bally's was pretty run-down and I'd be surprised if that's where they've invested their money for upgrades. Bally's is fine for grabbing drinks though.
Fwiw, taxi from Harrah's to boardwalk will almost 100% be 13$ the max city limit taxi cost almost every time, plus tip. There is Uber in AC.

Caesars Palace

Thanks
if poker isn't relevant... then i'd say caesars and not even close. it's the most luxurious of all the properties. harrahs is second in terms of being "nice" but it also attracts more of a "tough jersey" crowd and isn't really near anything.

caesars is beautiful. its at the center of the boardwalk which is the centerpiece of the city, especially during the summer. the beach is right there. luxury shopping and dining at caesars pier on one side. great shopping at the outlets on the other side.

if poker isn't a priority of a trip (when i go with my wife/family) and prices are comparable, i'd take caesars over any property in the city.

borgata is the only one that sometimes still pulls us away just because of how nice their property is, how great the restaurants are, and we're in love with their beds.

just my opinion.

Okay, let's talk comp rooms for $1/2 players. Which rooms are the easiest to get rooms comped if all you're gonna do is grind at $1/2 and how many hours do you have to play before they start rolling in?

I want to make a concerted effort to play more to start getting comps. Paying for rooms on Groupon is getting old...

Check Bravo ... just play 4 hours at either Harrah's or Bally's and you can get a comped room (based on availability of course) from Sunday - Thursday.

I don't want to go that route. I would rather go knowing I had a place to stay than hope that I got a room especially since rumors have it that there are not a ton of rooms available.

Does anywhere in town comp poker players as well as Borgata?

I'm not sure what triggers Sun-Thur offers, but it's not much. A couple good sessions should do it. Daily average earning around $15 in comps should get Fri-Sat.

Harrahs has been comping me pretty well. 32 and change a night vs Borg 20 sucks but free parking, directbets, and 15.00 in food comps a day more than makes up the difference. More importantly the 2 night a week limit they have at the Borg doesnt exist at harrahs.

So it looks like the Hard Rock is selling off all the stuff inside the Taj including the poker tables. Would definitely be a cool piece of memorabilia. Anyone have experience with these types of sales? Would they be selling chips too you think? Would love to put together a set for home games?

Anyone know why it is not possible to book a room through total rewards in AC (Caesars) in April 2018? (22nd-25th) I know it is very early, but I wanted to lock in the free rates and I keep getting an error message:
_______
Sorry! We are unable to confirm availability for your selected room type.
Please select a different room type or select new dates. You may also call us at 1-888-342-7724. Our reservation specialists are available from 5 a.m. - midnight PST.
_______

I even tried to book many different room types and even different casinos, but nothing worked. So I called there and they don´t know the problem either and tried to manually reserve me a room but this also didn´t work. So I thought, maybe one of the forum experts might know what the problem is. (note: I did book a trip to LV through TR for a later date which worked totally fine.)

must be an issue with your account or the glitch has been fixed-I had no problem for those exact dates, comped @ Bally's and Harrah's.

I only went as far as getting the summary, I did not complete

Summary works for me too, but once I put in my credit card details and want to confirm the reservation, that popup with the error message comes up.

I will try again in a few months. Just think it´s weird that they don´t know the cause for that problem either.

Can someone please give me a brief rundown of the parking fees in terms of in/out in a 24hr period. Borgata was one payment/24 hrs and IIRC, last time I was in town, showing you paid for parking at one place would grant you parking at other properties within that same 24hrs. Could be way off base here but I do seem to recollect something to that effect. Any accurate help would be really appreciated. Thanks!

yes, any receipt from one casino garage is good for free parking at ONE other casino garage so long as it's within the same gambling day.

the gambling day is from 6am until 5:59am

some casinos charge on the way into the garage... some charge on the way out... and the gambling day period validity of the ticket is for whenever that transaction takes place

Ah, so looks like highway 30(?) Is that major road that Borg and other places have a quick connection to, rather than going through the lousy areas the jitneys do when they are going around the casinos?

As soon as you leave the Borg you are on 30, just follow signs toward Absecon. If you drive a few miles up that road you'll run into the Garden State parkway. I usually take that way home toward CT instead of getting back on the AC expressway

exactly.

if you were coming from one of the casinos on the boardwalk you'd have to go through one of the neighborhoods (not that i avoid that but if you're looking to avoid sketchy areas you won't have a problem coming from a casino in the marina)

My bad I forgot about that part. I'm sure that 1 minute stretch of straightaway won't throw him off too bad.

Thanks guys mulling over canceling my trip to parx area (posted for advice in that regional thread as well) just because of parking in Philly to eat seems stupid I know but I wouldn't be using public transport. Could possibly go to AC instead as I'll have family up there visiting at same.time but I really don't want to play 10 handed 2/5 with a 1-5 min/max at Borg even though time period would be during the series in a few weeks don't think it will.make up for the negitivies and seems like fewer good restaurants in AC than parx/philly obviously and more non poker to do. Arrrrgghhhh..... :-/
