Ten Resort was the Revel.

This means that if the owner of Ten, Straub lands anywhere but on Ten, he has to pay Blatstein. Blatstein has the Ten resort surrounded.

I wonder why you would buy up almost all of the property surrounding the Revel?

( Monopoly Blatstein owns Vermont, Oriental, States, Baltic and more of atlantic, Pacific and the Boardwalk than Straub. )

The Monopoly streets

Mediterranean Avenue, Baltic Avenue, Oriental Avenue, Vermont Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, Saint Charles Place, States Avenue, Virginia Avenue, Saint James Place, Tennessee Avenue, New York Avenue, Kentucky Avenue, Indiana Avenue, Illinois Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Ventnor Avenue, Marvin Gardens, Pacific Avenue, North Carolina Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, Park Place, and Boardwalk

I believe that 3 hours of play will get you a free buffet at GN.

North tower renovated rooms are actually quite nice if you end up in one of those. Just steer clear of the west tower.

Speaking of buffets, the one at Golden Nugget is actually pretty decent and a small amount of play will get you 2 for 1 coupons for it. Friday is the best day as it includes seafood with snow crab legs! Also, Caesars buffet isn't bad either and 5 hours of poker play at Bally's (sun - thurs) will get you a $15 food voucher that you can use to offset the $40 price.

Any more news on the rumored move of the poker room?
Not to be rude, but if you consider the Golden Nugget's buffet to be "decent", I have to question the quality of food you've been eating for your entire adult life. The Golden Nugget's buffet can only be described as putrid.

I never said it was anything wonderful, and I actually only went there twice and both times happened to be on Friday with the seafood added! Also, it was a 2 for 1 deal so that's probably what made me say it was decent! Maybe "half decent" was the proper term to use.

Honestly, I never eat at buffets because I think they're overpriced and usually aren't very good!

It's been a while since I've been down to AC, is the noodle bar still at GN? I thought it was pretty good the last time I was down there.

Any Casino offer free rooms after a certain # of hours play/day? Haven't been to AC that much since Taj closed and Sands is closer to North Jerz. I'd like to drive down but I'd rather not drop $150 on a room.

I'd go on a weekend and yeah I know you can get free rooms on weekdays lol.

If you put in long sessions at Borgata you'll see weekend comps. I think it is 10-12 hrs per day at 1/2 and 8-10 at 2/5. It isn't exactly known how their formula works but I have received weekend rooms under this strategy. I should note, don't swipe your card for any pit games or slots if you're going to do this, only poker. Of course it takes 3-4 visits to start seeing comps.

Good post. Thanks for that. I was thinking too narrowly; I assumed that the original questioner was focused on coming down one day, playing X amount of hours that day, and getting a free room that night on a weekend specifically.

If Sands did this then I would have a free room every week lol.

It's tough to make the drive from North Jersey to AC and back..multiple times a week. Not worth it imo

Oakland Raiders going to las vegas is big news to Ac imo,.. It's just a matter of a year or two before we have legalized sports gambling at the casinos.

How would that change anything in your opinion?

part of the reason that the nfl/nba/mlb were blocking gambling outside of las vegas was due to other major cities having sports teams located in their state. with the raiders and to a lesser extent the knights , moving into there, that argument is not valid anymore.

So I have a "tell me everything" post. Sorry in advance.

First time ever to AC coming in May. I can get any Harrah's property comp sun-thur. I got one free room at borg sun-thur. Wife and I play mostly 1/3 some 2/5. Like long sessions. Will play light pit games if hammered.
So questions are....
1. Are the games worth a dam during the week? Big tourney series would help?
2. Which Harrah's property? I'm thinking borg first night then Caesers the rest of the time?
3. Boardwalk. Anything to do or see?

Thanks for all the help.

***DISCLAIMER: My information is a couple years outdated, but I'm going to blather anyway and others can correct me.***

1. Games during the week are fine. Be selective in what tables you play at. If you play a wide variety of games, you'll do a lot better. For instance, I love playing the Borgata's 10/20 O8 and LHE games. I've never been in a bad game for those.

2. Harrah's in the marina for sure. Borgata then Harrah's is a good plan. Getting to the Boardwalk is as simple as taking a jitney over or even an Uber if you'd rather ride privately.

3. Walk the boards, enjoy the beach and the sea breeze, people watch, casino hop, grab a drink or a meal or hit happy hour at the bars and restaurants in the casinos, e.g., Morton's at Caesar's and everything in the Quarter at Tropicana. When you see a store that has a ton of weird statues in front of it, go in, act like you're interested in buying something, ask how much something is, and be absolutely shocked by how expensive it is. Those places have to be a front for something else because there's no way they're selling a weird statue of an eagle for $2.5k.

And of course you can skim the rest of this thread for other ideas. It might look daunting, but it won't really take you that long because you know what kind of stuff you're looking for. Have fun!

Thanks for the reply! My wife loves limit and I don't mind donationing in mixed games so we will for sure mix it up.

Sounds like I need to do more research on Harrah's. I assumed from the price that Caesers was the move.

Caesar's doesn't have a poker room anymore. You would have to walk to Ballys. Ballys is trash. Poker room and property IMHO.
Wednesday is a great day at the Golden Nugget in the Marina along with Harrahs and The B. Tons of promos. Double comps high hand with no qualifier and splash the pot. It's a small room but the games are good on weekends and Wednesday. GN also has guaranteed tourney with good structure all week long.
Harrahs is more reg infested during the daytime but after 7 or so it's better.
Make sure you go to the white House for a hogie and I love guy fieries in Ballys. Great well priced food. GL
