Osc putting in work at the 10k Dealers Choice currently.

Sad to see only one stud 8 event this year.

10k I guess?

I was looking for the 2500 o8/stud8 and didn't see it and I guess I missed the other stud8 one.

Is Jason Mercier that much better than everyone else at mix games or is he just on a lifelong heater?

Any cool stories from the regs?

He is super aggressive, and gets some respect when maybe he shouldn't get it. But overall he seems to be on a pretty sick heater combined with being a solid player. When he needs to catch he does.

Hi guys, I made it to 12th place in the OE tourney and day 2 (and was the first to bust) in the 10k stud 8 tourney. Jason Mercier was surprising pretty solid in the OE tourney. In the 10k, I busted Mike the Mouth who was down on the dumps cause he had to open like 3 times in a roll without a playable hand. Eli Elezra was aggressive with draws and drew out on me a few times but I probably played those hands wrong. I had fun and learned a lot.

Todd's response to the hand seems logical..there are a ton of dead diamonds on 5 and Danzer was starting with bricks in the hole quite often. 3 aces dead on 6th which would mean Danzer's hand is usually 4 to dead diamonds, a low draw and opens aces? I'm nowhere near good enough to calculate those odds in my head on the fly but obv he thought it was correct.

This hand deserves a thread. I didn't want to discuss the strat on twitter with you, I think this forum is a much better location to chat about it. I'd don't think it's wise to talk about our peer's understanding of the game, but it's fair to say thats what Todd's thought process was based upon. Instead, lets discuss ranges and equity! I'll copy your content and create the thread - should be a very vigorous discussion.

From my pov, I see exactly what Todd was doing - and there is a time for that line, but I don't think this was the most opportunistic spot. His play wasn't horrible for a cash game vs very specific opponents - but for a tournament, I'd pass. I don't fault him for trying though!
