I'm assuming an "older guy" is somewhere between 30 and 70. I also was assuming that because it was a club game it was mix.

Now if it was a mix game, then a lot of the players will have learned their limit chops playing hold 'em -- even if they are old enough to have come up playing stud or are from the East Coast -- and as hold 'em players they will be trying to bet themselves out of trouble, so I think laying down too many rivers to raises might be a mistake.

In fact, if I were thinking of a bet/fold against such a lineup, I would *consider* a check/call instead. (However bet/folding, or, even better, raise/folding can generate some pretty good payoffs against such opposition in later hands.)

If I am mistaken and this is a straight stud club game, then "older" means > 70 and bet/fold is going to be right much of the time.

This is jmo. I wasn't there, so I can only speculate.
