all true sg and hero. the thing to worry about though when bringing in for the max is that you bloat the pot and then cant get the high hand to fold on 5th street because of that.

Fair point. And it's something to think about, but I would think that the extra number of times that we just take it down on 3rd without contest would outweigh that.

it might but if you are bringing it in with a raise every time he has a high card he will see this quickly and stop folding do more reraising.
in essence that play becomes basically you anteing more on the hands you have low and he has high.

No, I never said it was even close to every time, it definitely wouldn't be, Only when we at least have some equity, eg 4handed we have 3 low cards and the bring in vs 3 high (non-Ace) cards.

hero brings in with an 8 and villain shows a 9...

what if villain chooses to limp in on 3rd street with a 100% frequency after hero bring-in for the min? is limping a better strategy than raise/fold?

if limping is a better strategy, should hero choose to bring-in for the max and if so under what ante/blind conditions?

blind structure on 10-20 merge is: 1/20 antes, 1/10 bring-in (low)
blind structures on 30-60 stars is: 1/12 antes, 1/6 bring-in (normal),
blind structures on 5-10 bovada is: 1/8 antes, 1/4 bring-in (high).

I'm trying to imagine a scenario where I want villain to fold only his poor equity hands and continue with his decent ones and I can't. That's what you force him to do in every hand you complete from the bring.

You prevent his poor-equity steals
You pay extra when he has a quality hand and raises
You demonstrate an interest in the pot in a game where ambiguity is your biggest weapon
You don't get a raise in when you have a concealed hand and villain would otherwise complete a wide range.

Just seems universally bad.

Then you win enough 4th streets that it doesn't matter that he didn't fold on Third. Fourth street shows us half villain's hand so we can make a very good decision in a small pot.

if villian always limps he gives you a free card and you will certainly beat him till he is broke.

but i can see where if he plays like that you can find some hands to bring in for the max that you might want him out or to charge him to come in. but not many depending on his post play.

I complete open if I have something like (KK)2 or something I really don't want to play in a multi-way pot. Or on the looser games, to build a both with something nice that can scoop. But I am donkey.
