Re: Sometimes it's worth a shot.

I am planning on putting together a remake of Cross of Iron which centres upon, instead of wartime Russia, a Razz tournament, which lots of high rolling cash players like Durrr and Antonius have entered because they think it's a stupid person's game that anyone could win so long as they ran good. 'I am only here to win a bracelet', they say, like the haughty Prussian captain in the original version.

At the end it's a really really tough final table and James Coburn (possibly played by oscillator or Chips Ahoya) tells Durrrr 'come with me...I will show you where the river bluff check raises grow...'

And as Durr tries one he is called and beaten by a queen low and oscillator/Chips Ahoya cracks up laughing as Barry Greenstein stands in the corner shaking his head.

I think it would be a big seller.

PS - If you have't seen Cross of Iron this won't make sense. Moral of the story: watch Cross of Iron.

Yeah, this is the one thing in this thread that doesn't make sense.

Re: Sometimes it's worth a shot.

I hate to screw up our sacred board with TD hands, but today I proved the existence of the SIASIWAS at 2/4

Triple Draw 2-7 Lowball Limit ($2/$4) (converter)

SB ($82), Seat 5
BB ($145), Seat 6
UTG ($53), Seat 1
Hero ($166.50), Seat 2
CO ($47), Seat 3
Button ($76.50), Seat 4

Button at Seat 4.
SB posts $1. BB posts $2.

Hand: [6c 4h 2s 4d 6d]

Round 1: (1.50 SB)

UTG raises. Hero calls. CO folds. Button calls. SB folds. BB folds.
UTG takes 2. Hero discards 4d 6d. Button takes 2.

Hand: [6c 4h 2s As 3h]

Round 2: (7.50 SB)

UTG bets. Hero calls. Button calls. UTG takes 1. Hero discards As. Button takes 1.

Hand: [6c 4h 2s 3h 7d]

Round 3: (5.25 BB)

UTG bets. Hero calls. Button calls.
UTG takes 1. Hero stands pat. Button takes 1.

Hand: [6c 4h 2s 3h 7d]

Round 4: (8.25 BB)

UTG bets. Hero raises. Button folds. UTG raises. Hero calls.
Total pot: (14.25 BB - $57)

Results:
Total pot $57 | Rake $2

UTG had [3d 8c 4s 2c Qh] and lost with Lo: Q,8,4,3,2
Hero had [6c 4h 2s 7d 3h] and won ($55) with Lo: 7,6,4,3,2

Davdob: oh wow
Davdob: a siasiwas
Davdob: props for the balls on that

Assuming that betting is capped at 4 bets, I'm surprised that you didn't cap it with #2; it's not like you have to worry about getting raised. Although I guess if you had, you might never have known that it was a SIASIWAS.

Although that's probably too much content for this thread, and in the wrong forum anyway.

The hell you didn't cap him with a #2? Also, we have entered the zone of the potential siasiasiwas

Re: Sometimes it's worth a shot.

I admit being gunshy having been 3 bet with wheels in that spot about 5 consecutive times. Also these low levels tend to play really tight passive from what I have observed, and I may give people a bit too much credit when they come out guns a blazin.

But in any event, I had to display my nittiness to confirm the fabled existence of the siasiwas.

If I find the legendary siasiasiwas I will post no matter how big a donkey I appear in the hand! Anything for science . . . .
