Simple HU Razz Question Simple HU Razz Question

What are your opening requirements HU like say it's 3/6 then there's 90c antes and opponent brings in for $1 and we have to make it $3 so we are betting $3 trying to win $1.90 if he folds. Obv we have the lower card showing and sometimes it's simple but when both of us could possibly have good or equal strength hands like we have a xx4 and opponent is showing a 7 are we raising J94 , for example ? Probably can't answer this for every situation and it's going to be player dependent but is there a general rule ? We face the risk of getting reraised so how much equity does our hand need v his door card and 2 random cards ?

imho, for heads up this is extremely player dependent, but i'm probably leading out almost every time, like maybe 90% of the time, if my 3rd street is better than my opponent's no matter my down cards. i think at lower limits you can lead out a lot more than in the higher limits though.

It's not just a question of equity. For instance (T9)4 has about the same equity vs. (xx)7 as does (J2)4. But which hand would you rather play vs a raise after you complete?

I also think its player dependent. In particular how often is there a showdown? My experience is that HU Razz does not have much showdown, therefore value of down cards is not that important.
I would rather play (T9)4 instead of (J2)4 because if my board goes low there is no chance it has paired my down cards.

If you don't get to showdown, why does it matter if you paired? You're just playing your boards anyway

if you play any poker game you should understand what was said by SGspecial in post #3.

its probably more important than all of what you will read in the next two weeks.

TY sir. It's just an example of the concept of implied odds that Sklansky has been talking about for decades.
