re: cali -- I've stayed in camarillo a few times (between LA and Santa Barbara) on business and never seen a day of bad weather there. There's a souplantation and an In'nOut burger one exit apart on the freeway. Sounds a lot more like heaven than Iowa does.

my major complaint with it was the traffic/smog and feeling like I wasn't breathing fresh air. So much pollution from the cars.
