Plz to be posting all questions, comments, inquiries, and musings about playing any of the various Stud poker games at any "real live" casino including, but not limited to, Foxwoods, Commerce, Canterbury Park, and Horseshoe Hammond in this thread.

Odds aren't very good but try Bellagio and Venetian

The Wynn usually has a mixed game or something going, perhaps 15/30ish. The venetian will, but I think the highest I've seen is 8/16. Mirage has 5/10 O8 running nonstop.

I think Bellagio has stud hi games but I'm not sure how they play.

Enjoyed your TR ChipsAhoya!

Does anyone know if/where I could find a B&M stud game in continental Europe?

I would like to see the $20/40 stud game from Foxwoods moved to Canterbury Park. Thanks.

I;ve played Bellagio $20-440 when I have been there. Usually only one table, runs during the day. Super soft loose passive old people type game.

These are places where I know Stud Variants are played --

1. Taj AC
2. Foxwoods
3. Commerce
4. Borgata (10/20 OE game runs often, 30/60 Stud also seems to run fairly often).

Taking a trip to either Vegas or AC this summer. Where's the best place to play Stud Hi, HORSE, or preferably Stud 8? I'm looking for limits between $5-$10 and $15-$30. And is any time during the summer preferable over others?

Probably AC if it has to be between those two. You should be able to find $5/10 or $10/20 stud at the Borgata, and I think they have the $15/30 O/E mix. You're not likely to find a stud/8-only game.

Foxwoods would be better than either location. Multiple stud high games at $5/10, $10/20, and other limits.

Stud hi games at the Borgata are almost always 30/60 or higher. Although for a brief beautiful 2 hour period last time I was there a few people got a 20/40 game going that was hilarious.

There is a 10/20 OE game that runs most evenings, but from time to time the regulars just elect to play O8 only. The O8 game plays with a half kill.

There is always alot of stud action at the taj from very low stakes (I think as low as 1-5 spread limit) on up. You also are going to wonder wtf you are doing there, but that is a completely different issue.

Recent AC stud lineup;

Borgata - 10/20 OE, 30/60, 75/150
Taj - 1-5 (no ante), 5/10, 10/20, 15/30 OE, 20/40, 40/80
Harrah's - 1-5 (.50 ante)
Trop - 1-5 (no ante)
Bally's - 1-5-10 (.50 ante)

The Taj stud games have been getting better/looser in the past year. The old regulars have more gamble in them, and there's some younger hold 'em players who are trying out other games. The casino in general/poker room is not nearly as bad as everyone says it is.

Over in the B&M forum - Borgata main thread, Stan the poker room manager posts regularly. He wants to try to get a 4/8 or 5/10 stud 8 game going at Borgata. Anyone who's interested should write a follow-up post.

Vegas Mid to High Update -

We play 50/100 HORSE every Wednesday at Wynn starting at 6:30PM most weeks.

2-5 days a week depending on who is free there is also a 40/80 stud game going by 8PM at Wynn.

Bellagio's Stud games are now 20/40, the 40/80 and 50/100 games that used to go during the series will probably not happen often because these players migrated to the Wynn.

RIO's S8b is 50/100, it will go nearly 20-7 by June 2nd.

Bellagio's BOTE is now 50/100, sometimes they add Razz with a 2-7 qualifier, depends on who starts the game.

Bellagio's bigger mixed games are by request, give your name to the floor and they will dig up some players for you most days during the series. 100/200 is the same player pool as 50/100, 300/600 and bigger is a different ballgame.

Smaller stud games in Vegas aren't worth the effort IMO, for smaller games go to AC or Foxwoods.

Binion's had one last summer during their series, but they dropped it this year.

Well, that will be difficult unless you will play mixed games. I think razz by itself is basically nonexistant outside of online.

Has anyone here played the Stud hi game at the Motorcity Casino in Detroit? About how many tables are there, is there a wait, and are there any tables at 10/20 or lower?

+1, except for WSOP razz satties and the occasional 20/40 or 30/60 cash game in the Rio that week.

Also, I cannot stress enough the softness of the 2/4 stud game at Hollywood park and the 1-4 stud (no ante) and the Mirage for low limit stud fans. Just check your 15% VPIP game at the door...
