I've known Drake since I was like 10 years old and he thought I was Mexican for 5 years. But everytime we play blackjack and stuff I get like 0 heat because of my looks.

Re: My Trip Report

I'll try to summarize my trip too. I arrived to Vegas on the 29th of May and stayed there until the 4th of July. I played mostly the 50/100 stud 8 cash game. I tried freerolling the trip before hand by grinding 2 weeks at hollywood park, mostly in the 20/40 OE and occasionally the 40/80 o8. My friend was nice enough to let me crash at his place for 2 weeks, so I am very thankful for that. Shout outs to the two Dannys I met. They were awesome enough to offer me a lot of live poker advice. Made around $5,000 ($3,000 in LA, $2,000 in Reno) pre-Vegas and took that to the big leagues.

some highlights of my trip:

[x] met awesome people: zac, dj, phil, yuebin, peter, dave, levi, buz, flash, and a lot more
[x] grinded pretty much 12 hours/day, 5-6 days/week
[x] comped at the rio almost everyday through -ev house games
[x] saw phantom of the opera
[x] cashed in venetian $600 HORSE
[x] spent less than $2,000 on expenses: food, hotel, flight, taxi
[x] up $6,000 in -ev table games
[x] up almost 300 BB overall, and around $25,000 after expenses, table games, and tourneys
[x] stayed at aria, cosmo, venetian, luxor for free
[x] artificial pho tasted alright

some bads:

[x] got pissed on by drunk girl
[x] needled by levi everyday
[x] Sam is very annoying. Drives me insane after playing with him day after day for a month.
[x] -100 BB downswing at one point. I played badly too...
[x] food sucked after 1st week
[x] rio ripped me out of $100 on laundry service
[x] ran out of clothes by the end of the trip so I started recycling dress shirts.
[x] bricked every WSOP event I played: 1.5k stud 8, 5k stud 8, 2.5k OE
[x] lost to runner runner wheel in a 50k 4-way all in pot where I had the low locked on 5th street in a mega satty to the 5k stud 8 on final 2 tables
[x] couldn't play the HORSE event, b/c friends came to visit
[x] got in trouble at wynn
[x] became increasingly pale
[x] had to share bathroom with Josh
[x] sister confiscated car keys after she found out I used her car to gambol

I'm heading off to Mexico in a few hours. After that I'll be pursuing my dreams and looking for a job. Until then, see you guys next year.

Re: My Trip Report

I'd like to add hearing sam do Vietnamese/chinese accents and levi doing korean/deep voice impersonations was funny at first, but annoying after hearing it day after day after day.

I blame sam for a lot of my downswings too. Basically what he would do is try to isolate me when i have huge draws, or i try to isolate him when i have 2 pairs and he has high and he 3-bets GIVING ALL THE EQUITY away to the low thats freerolling or low draw that has the highest equity. It was almost as if he was irrational and not money motivated and just wanted me to pay a heavy price while he pays one too. I was stubborn enough to play back at him for half the freekin pot. I guess moral of the story is just to fold and yield instead of paying off 7+ bets on 5th, 6th, and river.

Buried the lede there.

Good TR, nice job on the grind.

+1 on Sam and Levi being annoying on prolonged exposure. I mean immediately. Like within seconds. Hence, earplugs.

Everybody who doesn't play it says the 50-100 game is tough, but when I would look around it was usually the best game in the room. Waffles because occasionally the 75-150 O8 game would be nutso.

If I find some spare time I'll write a food+gambling TR myself. See you next year.

Re: My Trip Report

what the heck ill post my TR too.

My flight was scheduled to leave @ 5:55pm out of Nola airport. I left work at 2:15 to give myself time in case there was traffic. Nola is about a 2 hour drive from here. The drive goes well; save for a bit of traffic in the red stick. I hate that city so much.

I get to the airport around 5. I go to the wrong side of the airport and have to walk all the way back to get to my terminal. Oh well, so i get in line to have my bag scanned. I only brought one carryon for this trip. #packinglightftw.

As i get close to my turn, about 7-8 people from the scanner; i hear a guy tell his gf in front of me "look drew brees". I look up my phone at him with a 'wtf' look and he nods to the direction behind me...

Now if you don't know, Drew Brees is practically a God here. He's amazing. Since arriving in '06 he's turned one of the worst franchises in all of sports into superbowl winners and contenders year after year.

So I turn around and there he is in all his glory; standing about 7 ft from me. First thing i realize is this dude is small. Barely pushing 6ft and not big. No wonder he gets so many balls batted down at the LOS. He's wearing one of these hats, forget was name is atm:

and grey vneck and jeans, with some converse sneakers.

I make contact with him and out of total bewilderment just sort of nod my head at him.

"Do i go talk to him? Ask him for autograph? Do i have a pen? Do i leave him alone? why is no one else talking to him?"

These questions run through my head as i feel a bump. The line is moving. Any interaction will have to wait. He's in a 1st class line that's different from mine. I scurry through check in and keep tabs on him. He hurries through his scan and is walking pretty fast towards his terminal. I make my way behind him as i'm texting my fellow saints fans what's going on at that very sec. I see one person stop him as he's walking but brees briefly speaks to him but never stops walking...i guess he's not in a mood to talk to fans.

He stops at gate D5 and i snap a pic:
