So I flew to Vegas the day of the 5k Stud8. I arrive at roughly 9am. Meet up with Drake ask him about games and he gives me money cuz I’m his pimp and that’s what hos do is pay their pimp. Game starts at roughly 11am according to Drake because that is when the old people play. The cash game from what I remember was soft as always with people making the same mistakes all they usually make. I don’t see familiar young faces which is gin. With Drake, Yuebin, and me as the only good players I somehow manage to bink 3.2k in a 5 hour session.

The tournament is about to start and I was actually thinking of not playing the 5k. The 50 game was good and 5k’s are pretty high variance and even though I sold 17% of myself it was still a little out of my comfort zone. The first day was a little disheartening because people didn’t play as bad as I expected and since limit tournaments are about fundamentals and mostly winning showdowns this tournament felt significantly tougher than the 1.5k.
My first table was fairly unknown to me, I had Devoshire and Mike Leah. Besides that the table did not look too scary. I’ve played with both in a 1.5k stud8 in 2010 and they both play not bad. It was kinda sick because there were 2 aggrotards making the variance out of control. It took me awhile to adjust as I was playing hands like 87 4 and 26 7and then realized its getting capped 3rd and 4th and stopped playing hands like that and even stronger. I remember one hand went

The 6 shows KK in the hole and scoops. I thought to myself maybe this tourney field isn’t as good as I thought. Eventually I have like 9k when I get moved. I am kinda upset but kinda not.

My new table has Paulgees, Justin Smith and Maria Ho. The table is a lot softer imo. Like less agro bad and more passive bad which in tourneys is good. Table goes well, I can play more hands and stuff. Joe Cassidy sits down and basically there are 4-5 ok players and 2-3 bads. The good players are losing to the bad players and the bad players are losing to me so I chip up. Also to note BoostedJ plays some high high level stud8 and has a good feel at where he is at in the hand. Then in the 5/1000 level

Day kept going and Phil Ivey came to my right to replace Joe Cassidy. He let me throw in his ante (BRAG). I ended day 17900.

Tournaments are so exhausting I just slept then woke up at 900. I play the 50/100 for 4 hours and bink another 2.5k. Drake thinks its because I look like a fish so I get paid off light all day which is good for me.
Day 2 starts and I get instamoved to a table. I don’t remember who started at the table or anything but by middle of the day it was a bunch of online pros. It was kinda tilting. I also had probably the worst seat cuz Yarron Bendor is an aggrotard who raises everytime its folded to him.
Two hands

I have 88 2 with like 4.8k at the 8/1600 level. I open complete, an Ace and a baby call, ceegee 3bets with an ace I tank and jam. I am a little rusty on the math but ceegee has 3 wheel cards or Aces or rolled. With the antes and the two callers I just jam. My thoughts are ceegees 4.8 +800 + 800 + at least 2k in antes is enough for me to jam. So I 3 bet and I get 2 fold and ceegee 4bets. We get it in on 4th when after I bink an 8. He has aces. So ceegee got in vs me as a 4-1 dog which is standard.

I catch a brick on the end he makes a #2 and I get scooped but yea anyone can get 4th in the Stud8 1.5k. TBH I thought I was never getting scooped on 7th and was pretty sick after he showed his hand. I thought he had a boat or something.

When there is about 50 players left and I have 12k and limits are 3/6 or something like that. I get bets in vs WWA with kings vs Aces and a low draw on 5th (All the money got in on 3rd and 4th) I lose : (

I was in seat 1 and Josh(jive) was in 8th seat and from my view, he still had the funniest poker face ever. You always looked so angry when you were in a hand hahaha
