Maniacs of Stud

At both stud hi and Stud 8 tables up to .25/.50 (which is as high as I play) there is a certain variety of player that just bets and raises every street all the time. They're very easy and profitable to play against though very high variance. But I just wonder why...

Other games do not have nearly the number of total maniacs as the stud tables. What is it about stud games that attract these crazies?

Any ideas?

Re: Maniacs of Stud

That hand is much more sane than the kind of thing I'm talking about. If you play Stud games on Poker Stars, I can name names (Camala, Cris, Vander, and many others) There was one at the Stud 8 tables today name Ice something... not the Chinese players. they are over-aggressive at times, but I mean players that just blindly bet and raise all the time. Playing like 65/45 and see most hands to the river betting and raising all the way.

What is your name on PokerStars? I don't remember a darex. And it depends on the table. If it's really loose, I tend not to play hands that only go one way unless they're really strong.

Re: Maniacs of Stud

You probably just notice them more in stud because it's a smaller community. There are plenty of lhe players at those stakes doing similar things but the community is bigger. It's just low stakes players not knowing what they're doing and/or not caring. Also, in some of the off-games you might get an occasional player who plays something else higher but just feels like donking around and/or experimenting with something. I'm in America and don't play there anymore but that's probably your answer. I mean, there are bad low stakes players...
