I've had some short term success at HU stud but my NL friend tells me that the best case scenario is that I'll either break even over time or maybe post a small profit since the edges are so small. Agree/disagree?

I assume you're referring to stud hi only. Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. Are you in the U.S? What sites and stakes do you currently play? The chinese run a monopoly on the games at stars, and if you're in the U.S you're options are limited. Stud hi isn't very popular at the high stakes (100/200+) online unfortunately.

Yes stud hi. I play at Merge. When I sit down at 5/10 I can usually get action after a few minutes. You're right about high stakes being nearly dead though.

The Chinese are still doing their thing on Stars? Do they share info with each other while in the hand?

Its easy to have a nice edge. I wouldnt count on just playing hu tho. Not enough action

your edge is determined by your opponent and the rake off. hunt for the best of it.
