Aloha
I recently made a ft of a horse event
Down to 9 only top 8 get paid.in the bubble
I have 80k and small.bet is 4k big bet 8k
Im utg with 55 .i decide to fold
At the time my thinking was there were 2 other stacks that were smaller then me.and my goal was get into money.
Chris reslock and some.other top pros were also at ft

So.like i said i decide the fold
In a nut shell i would have flopped a boat against a player that had aces against another player with a flush drawon a board of 51010

55 would have held up id at least doubled up and.possible
Had a much better shot at winning

I did eventual get 8th and cashed

After its all.said and done as i look back.i think i should have folded still.

Id luv to hear what others thought

Was it 1 9-handed table or 2 tables?

Fold if it's 9-handed. Open if 5 or 4-handed.

You should definitely base all your decisions on the future outcomes and on the board runouts. The fact that you folded pre and would have flopped a full house means that it was a bad decision to fold pre.

hi m8

this is a stud forum so post your holdem hands in the holdem forums.

probably better to post it in the limit holdem forums than the MTT pages

In limit holdem, small pairs dont have the value that they do in NL because making sets gets you just about as much chips as making top pair, whereas in NL you can get whole stacks with sets and usually only a bet or two from top pair for maybe 30 big blinds.

So in general its better to lay them down in most situations because you wont be able to continue past the flop profitably most of the time because its a guessing game.

That its a bubble situation in this hand only cements this POV.

I think that's a reasonable fold.

A troll is someone who just posts to antagonize people in a disingenuous manner. Actual trolling is much less common than false accusations of trolling; some people have such a myopic worldview they cannot comprehend that people might have a good faith basis to disagree with them.
