Live 20/40 Stud 8 with 5 ante and 5 bring in. Opponent is a regular player, pretty aggressive, who probably breaks about even in the game if I had to guess (although probably has an edge in this exact lineup).

3 brings it in, I complete with (34)8 as a steal (xx4 behind me telegraphing fold), get called by xx9, xxT and xxJ and then the bring in makes it 2 bets and we all call. On 4th, xx3A bets, I call with 87 suited and all the high hands call with whatever trash they have. On 5th I pair my sevens and bet into the field. Everyone calls and 3AJ rainbow raises. What range would you put him on? I mean how highly would you weight AA or 33 in the hole versus Ax in the hole?

he has to be rolled up or have AAA IMO. I don't think he would 3! Aces up here or A234, A235, etc

All I'm going to say is 'forget about stealing in that game except under highly favorable circumstances' which you didn't have, imo. Those ppl aren't folding often enough for this particular grab to work.

He could easily have 4 wheel cards

Seems like raising four wheel cards is a bad play here to me. Villain should think he's only drawing for high with a 4 outer and is about a 2-1 dog to make his lo with a possibility of getting 3! by the (xx)877 as leading into this field with (43)877 is also a bad play in my opinion and you should show up with trips quite often here.

Raising 4 wheel cards is good play.
Leading 7s bad play.

That's a high ante game, No way are you stealing in that game. Rolled treys is my read.

Where are you getting 2-1 dog from?

4 wheel cards is a slam dunk raise against 3 droolers and 877

Wow, high ante, bad structure. The fish are right in gambling til 5th street in this game. Costs too much to wait for a hand, and if stealing is impossible then why play bingo. BTW you played this hand sub optimally, lol.

leading doesn't seem bad to me. anyone in the middle supposed to be calling with kk? i also don't think c/r'ing is bad.

So if we don't expect a steal to work here, are we just limping in? If there are only high cards and the bring in left to act it seems incorrect to fold.
