OK. I use a weird system where I take a mental "picture" of the up cards on 3rd street and then remember them as they relate to my hand. For example, in stud 8, if I start with 4
, I might not deliberately retain the fact that J
was folded. Then, going to 4th street, if it is three handed and I am against a J
and a 7
, I will remember it as the other players not having the jack and not having the diamond. It's more the relationship to the hands that I remember.
On each street I go back to my picture of the folded cards looking for relationships.
Upon reading the above I realize that it doesn't make much sense, but it's the folded card's function as I glean my opponent's range that enables me to remember the cards.
