Re: Boycott PokerStars Stud/Stud8 games until they clean them up

this is more like my story. i do not have evidence to back it up, nor the time or motivation to skim through old hand histories to search for some.

i like stud/8 and i played a lot in the low limit (mostly $1/$2) on stars for quite some time now. i am not a good player, but did okay. then somewhere in the last 12 months the games changed. suddenly a lot more tables were available (6-8 going instead of 2-4), a lot of players got a spewtard-tag because they were treating buried 99 like the nuts or did other stupid stuff and, because of this, the games played a lot bigger. and these should be should be good things. the problem was: somehow i did not came out of my sessions ahead anymore. maybe i am to stupid to adjust to the new way of play, maybe it is because of the swong/tilt-issues i have (i do noteworthy stuff then) or maybe they collude and cheat me out my money somehow. whatever the reason, i simply moved to full tilt and now my pokerlife is good again.

Re: Boycott PokerStars Stud/Stud8 games until they clean them up

If anyone is around, there are two chinese players playing against one another right now on a 5/10 hu S8 table on stars. The pace of the action and the actual action itself is really strange. I think it's quite possible they're testing out some kind of bot. If you are around right now, you might want to take a look.

So, I checked my HH's and it didn't save it because it was only observed. However, I did recognize one of the players, he is a low limit guy and playing right now, his name is szj520.

seems to me like a lot of racial profiling in these last few posts. All russians cheat! All chinese are cheaters/spew/bots! All muslims are terrorists!

Re: Boycott PokerStars Stud/Stud8 games until they clean them up

So I have a few candidates from my data but I have to think about setting up the math of determining whether their win rate frequency is so far as to be relatively unlikely without some form of cheating or colluding.

But there's a really simple test(that anyone can do) that I did with one of the 'candidate' players in a game I suspected. But as I am still not sure whether or not cheating has gone on I won't give out names but rather describe a simple test.

When you sit in a game load all the player's in game into poker tracker game time(assuming this still works for you) and look at the stat avg BB/100. Most games I play in(like 90%+) the total population win rate will be bet between -1.5 to 1.5 BB/100, however this particular game I noticed the avg population win rate was +4BB/100, and this was a shorthanded table. This was indeed odd because you should win less BB/100 when playing shorthanded. You may win more per hour but still the effects of rake/hand and closer value of hands should make a win rate like that really tough. So don't sit in a shorthanded game if the avg population win rate is over 1.5 BB/100 even if there is a seeming 'fish' in the game.

Re: Boycott PokerStars Stud/Stud8 games until they clean them up

So I was drunk and donking around at a bunch of 2/4 tables and there was a lot of seemingly shady stuff going on but I kind of just shrugged it off. After this hand however, I got kind of pissed and sent it in to support for them to look at. Just focus on the river. Seat 3 checks QQ, seat 4 bets his wheel, I make a crying call with 2 pair , seat 3 c/r with bare QQ (which he would obviously never ever ever do), then seat 4 flat calls his wheel so as to not raise my hand out. It reeks of collusion... Both players then immedately sit out and leave. I know that some may think that QQ is raising to get a HU showdown, but if he was trying to do that he would just lead on 7 and get a raise from the other player who bet 6th. This way he is bloating the pot and allowing himself to get 3 bet with 1 pair and it's no more likely to isolate me than the other option. Am I crazy?

Also, I think it's important to point out that over the past week I have noticed a lot of new players from non-US countries in the games playing the same style known colluders have been using. FWIW there was a chinese player at each table in every instance.
