Started the day with my FTP money showing up in my account and Bovada is having a$100 10k stud8 tourney tonight. Followed by a bachelor party in two weeks and wedding in 4. Decent month imo

I meant to ask a few months ago but forgot, is the woman you're marrying the one you were fussing about in the LC thread a few years back, like you weren't sure if she like-liked you or some nonsense like that?

Finished third... I made two bad folds (hindsight... probably bad folds in game time too)... against the guy running the table over. Them got my A28 against his k68 in what was probably am ICM disaster and lost. I'll post the two hands tomorrow I'm curious what you guys will say

Can any of you guys who go to Vegas for the entire Series offer any advice on finding a place to stay? My problem isn't that I can't find information, but that I find too much of it. Craigslist brings up hundreds of hits; google even more.

Any web sites you'd recommend?

I'll be playing 95% side games -- hopefully at the Rio, but will be checking out other games in all the rooms. I wouldn't mind staying in Chinatown up on Spring Mountain, but don't remember that many residences there.

I've also thought of renting a house and renting the rooms to homies coming into town for a week or two. Has anybody done this?

I recommend Gold Coast. It's a downscale place compared to the Rio but it's pretty cheap and directly across the street from it. 5 minute walk at most.

ETA: oh wait, are you asking about long term, like renting a place? I don't know anything about that.

Hey congrats! (on the finish, not the folds) It's tough to play against bullies

Actually, at one time the GC was viable for long term stays during the Series, but I think too many people are using them and their prices have gone up...

Highly recommend VRBO for all vacation housing, especially if you have a group you can bring costs down super low per head.

Have had good experiences with vrbo locally. Most places that have been using it for a while will have reviews posted so you can get some idea of the owner's level of crazy.

Not sure I know that many Vikings. Let's see, there was Eric the Red and Fran Tarkington ... Who else?

RIP to one of the best stud players ever, Danny Robison.

I have read that he played together with Chip Reese. I have no inside knowledge at all, but I think it's safe to say that one of the best players, and especially characters, of poker is gone now.

If people would be more like he has been, poker would be a lot more fun for everyone.

Lets try to take his table-appearance as an example, and try to come close to him whenever we play.

Great player, great story teller. I played in a good game with him for a short while but unfortunately have no anecdotes. Still makes me sad that a guy everybody liked who was great at something passes.

Here's a good one. RIP.
