there's a couple hands that beats u if he didn't improve on the river...
i think a lot comes down to the player's style... some factors u may consider...
1) his opening range with 6 babies behind and if he makes big considerations on the liveliness of his hand...
2) his out of position river betting range...
3) if he makes river bluffs
and
4) and his range for calling a river reraise without the nuts...
i think a lot of this depends on your image and what kind of hands u've been playing...
i like the raise here given ur description of the villain for value, since u obviously thought u were drawing live to the river... it sounds like he's a loose player on tilt... someone who'd try to vbet out of position with a rough hand and call down light...
obviously, given the situation, vs a tight player... u gotta give him credit for completing UTG with so many babies left to act... the 3 and 7 likely didn't pair him... appears to have caught a couple of jokers... and if he's aware of this and 1) capable of making river bluffs given the situation,
2) not call a raise without a made 7 there,
and
3) doesn't bet out of position with a 76 made then u may lean towards calling...
