There was an asian lady in her 20s who said she's a reg at the 300/600 in AC during the 1/2 s8 game. She started a 2/4 OE mix later on with a viet guy who I'm sure is pretty well known and yuvee. Anyone know who those two were? I had a feeling yuvee and the viet guy were bumhunting her too, but I could be wrong...

Mo and Karina were ok. The Persian guy however was truly ****en annoying. He'd get upset over something relatively stupid every now and then and would have the dealer call floor. After a while, he stopped having the dealer call floor and would just yell floor himself and even called floor on the dealer. It's really annoying when you slow down the game and ruin it for others.

So now that I had busted the PLOament, I was unencumbered before the $1500 8/bament at 5pm the next day. I had checked into the Rio for a few days at this point and ended up making my way downstairs at 2-3 or something, just in time to play an 8/b satellite. I've heard a lot of people say that the STTs offer a tremendous amount of value & they're probably right. I can think of 3 good reasons for this:

1. obviously people play poorly. however, the satellites are also ostensibly winner take all, paying $1500 or $2500 or whatever in $500 lammers that can only be redeemed for tournaments (or sold at par to anyone in the registration line). Often, people will chop these, and as a good player, you won't ever take a -EV chop but can get some +EV ones.

2. people generally do last longers, of at least $100, sometimes with up to 7-8 people on the table. again, assuming you're good, this is free +EV w/ no rake.

3. the STTs aren't raked that much, comparatively. for example, the $345 razz one paid $2500 in lammers + $130 in cash. The cash is so you'll have something to tip the dealer with, though if your tourney lasts like an hour, you probably aren't going to tip the entire $130. I guess online, a $300 SNG is what, 7% juice; $300+$20? If you split the cash w/ the dealer, it's also 7% juice. If everyone does a $100 last longer, then you're paying like 5% juice.

So I regged an 8/b one, I think it was like $285 to pay $2k in lammers actually, and it got down to 3-handed. You started w/ T2000 in chips because this was over the >$250 cutoff where you start with T1500 only (I think). I had like 4200, someone else had about the same, and a big stack had the rest. He offers us a $500 chip each to chop, and I'm like "uh, I have more than double the starting stack..." and the bastard is like, "so?" and I'm like "so..... I'm not taking $500." obv. I'm good at shorthanded 8/b, and I win a couple pots off of him, and them make quads with a pair of jacks kicker in a huge pot to cripple him (karma ftl?). But the jacks alone were good!

He busts a bit later (and I don't typically offer a chop, though I am open to discuss offers), and I the guy that was left had said earlier he wasn't playing the event if he didn't win, so some people aren't interested in chopping regardless, so we played HU and then I won like 10 hands later or something as the guy wasn't really familiar w/ hu play.

however, all of this took like 2.5 hours, so I was like 45 minutes late by the time I got my lammers. I went in to reg and would be seated at the next flight of late reg or whatever at the top of the hour.

i have to run to the store for dinner but will finish another update after dinner.

so I sit down at this random late reg table, and they start playing 3/4 handed, which is interesting, except that after the first level of button ante, it's 25/25/75/150, so an ante is 1/3 of the small bet lol. time to open up huge, except it's only 4 handed, so there aren't that many antes in the pot...

chad brown sits down to my left, and in retrospect, I think Scott Seiver was at my table too. not exactly the best table draw in what's supposed to be an event full of donks. nothing really eventful happens, although Chad Brown busted suuuuper quick...

I guess in the $1500 it's quick enough that you don't have a ton of room to manuever, and I lost a couple of jammed pots. one of the exciting ones was at the new table we were moved to.

on 5th, someone to my immediate left had XX944, where XX is aces or kings or something, someone else had xxTh9h8, someone to my immediate right had xx57K, and I had a236x. 944 leads, T98 calls, 57K calls, I jam my nut low draw, and am right to do so in a 4 handed pot, 944 3-bets, call, call, I 4bet, and he caps it. although looking back, it was probably too thin to 4-bet in that spot w/ the two 4s out, but, w/e...

6th comes down bad, I catch a 7, and 57k catches a 3. T98 catches a 3rd heart. it's checked to me, and I bet, 944 calls, T98xhhh raises a flush, and the low guy calls two cold. i assume he has a 7 low as well.

7th bricks me and my 7632a < 7543a. 944 guy goes ballistic when I don't flip over a winner as if it's any of his business and starts berating me for who knows what. fine. you're an idiot for berating me because you were jamming with me, and I don't give a ****.

then, he gets on his phone and starts tweeting, and the mother****er tweets "idiot gtown kid" something about him losing a big pot. now it's on, **** JUST GOT SRS BSNS style.

the only problem is I don't have that many chips now, and then we go on dinner break and I have like 2-3BB left.

I come back and win 4 all-ins, mostly chopping of course, and the guy next to me is like tilt/spite trying to iso me w/ bad hands and he's getting his ass handed to him, which is awesome.

on the hand I bust, I open with an Ace, Six, and something else, he r/r ac5cqc, and a guy calls two cold and then the b/i defends. I make a pair of aces on 4th, but the bring-in gets a wheel. the nice part was that douchebag was all in, too, and couldn't beat a wheel.

so this is a stunning development b/c now I can talk ****, although, I hadn't at all expected him to bust on the same hand as me (I was hoping he'd somehow bust before me obviously), so I didn't really have anything ready. I tell him not to send stupid tweets, and he's like "don't follow me then" and I'm like "I don't" and then he's like "how do you know then" and I'm like "I know" and don't tell him I saw his phone, and then I tell him to play me heads up if he thinks I'm an idiot and of course he backs down saying some bull**** like "I'm not in the mood right now" and then sends another stupid tweet about that I found out later.

BONUS TWITTER DETECTIVE WORK:

Spoiler:
I found out even more later that someone else tweeted at him "that might be ChipsAhoya" and I really really really hope it was in the sense of "uh, that guy's actually really good..."

I am going to refrain here from identifying him, because I got my revenge as follows:

while I was playing a razz SNG, after I had the bracelet, the ****er comes over and starts talking to the guy next to me. I guess he didn't notice me, and I declined to start something b/c I was trying to take the higher road. But I was still pissed.

since ghost is the politest person ever, I tell him this story a day later, day 1 of the razzament, and ask how HE would take revenge if his honor was called into question. I thought about taking a picture of my hand giving the finger with the bracelet in clear view and then PMing it to him. to my surprise, Ghost approved of this, so I was set.

after I bust the razzament on day 2, I walk over to Ghost's table, and THERE HE IS. A few people asked me to show the bracelet, so I went out to my car after chatting w/ everyone on break, and came back wearing it to show those who wanted to see it.

ghost is sitting in the 2 seat, and ****er is sitting in the 4 seat. when I get to his table, I put my wrist out, so seat 4 can clearly see it, and say "hey, here's my bracelet" or something like that. ghost knows what's up, so he says, "wow! the $10,000 stud/8 world championship bracelet" uncharacteristically loudly. I choose not to make eye contact w/ seat 4, but ghost said the look of pain in his eyes was delicious as he was having a bad day anyway, and this made it so much worse. I hope it tasted like sweet, sweet candy.

as a result of this, I declined to send the picture, though still reserve the right to do so. the ****er is from New Jersey, so he had all this coming, anyway.

Kudos, ChipsAhoya. I've enjoyed this thread. Although I'll never stake or be staked, I'm glad I had a chance to read about it.

I guess you forgot to tell us whether Phil Helmuth called you a bad player.

so I already talked about PLO cash earlier, which means it's time for the 6-max 10-game tournament. I played a 10-game SNG the day before the tournament, and ****ed up because I didn't realize quite how deep we were when I shoved a T in KCL and an 8 draw called (lol) but unfortunately a pat 9 did, too. Oh well. I also played a bit of craps that night, and was throwing well when this guy who was playing big started making bets for me. it was ridiculous / awesome. a couple more people came to our table, and then he left I guess to go to a table by himself, and I almost followed him over there (sick value), but I was just about to go to bed anyway...

before I did go to bed, though, I went to whopper bar waaaay in the back of the Rio. now, I would normally never eat at a Burger King, because BKs are ****ing disgusting, usually, and they're a sworn enemy of mine anyway since I've accumulated MCD stock for a long time... but I was ridiculously hungry and it was the only thing still open... I was actually impressed though. If you actually have a clean, high-profile BK that corporate actually pays attention to instead of neglecting its franchisees, it turned out pretty good.

so I get to my 10-game table, knowing I'm going to be the worst NLHE player at the table, but also knowing I'm pretty solid at PLO and should be fine in that big bet round. I've also done some work on KCL so should at least be +EV over the field in general. I sit down, and Robert Williamson III is to my left, and David Benyamine is on my right. So I guess I can't ****ing play any PLO hands, either...

playing with RWIII was awesome. he's super, super cool, loud/boisterous, and drinks like a fish. we talked about full tilt for a bit, and he's like "why wouldn't I support them [by wearing their ****] now when they need it most?" which is a great point for the people who are like "OMFG RED PRO WHERE'S MY MONNNIIIEEEEZZZ??"

I got to make two snap calls, which were awesome:

1. there was this asian kid at the table who was kinda spazzy, he opens UTG+1 in KCL, I 3-bet a T, like T8763 or something, and he shoves. luckily, i've played enough KCL to know that a bunch of people like him LOVE to shove Jacks pre, especially against aggressive people they know will raise good one-cards in position, so I snap my ten and then pat behind him and win.

2. this guy started shoving light with his shortstack and then was talking about shoving light, so I open 33 UTG and he shoves for some amount that looked like 20bb but I didn't even bother asking for a count, I just fist pump snap called so fast that like after I busted him (33>AQ, actually...), other people at the table thought it was rude!! I guess I disrespected his range by snapping so fast w/ 33? I'll have to triple range merge next time instead, I guess.

Somehow I bust Benyamine; I forget how. I ask him if I get a "bust a pro" t-shirt, and he was not amused. Robert Mizrachi replaced him; I had played with him earlier in the PLOament and he's like 'I'M SO BAD AT PLO, I CAN'T BELIEVE I REGGED THIS INSTEAD OF THE 8-GAME' and then a little bit later made the worst stack off w/ third set I forgot to talk about:

the board is KQ72 rainbow, guy checks, Mizrachi bets, guy check raises, Mizrachi 3-bets, and guy shoves pretty big over that, (GEE, I WONDER IF HE HAS KINGS...) and Mizrachi calls and of course he has kings. I mean, he didn't even stack off w/ queens there...

so I try to take advantage of him in that round at least. At one point, he had JJ in limit HE, lost to QQ, and then complained to the general vicinity that his Jacks got "cracked". wtf? he got quads, too, in E; though I made him fold the river in another E hand where he was button, I was b/i, and he played it wrong.

RWIII was talking about how he had concert tickets at the Palm that night and then didn't come back after the dinner break. Mizrachi texted him or something and he comes like sprinting back into the room w/ a glass of wine from the Palms b/c he thought we had a 90-minute dinner break and it was only 60-minutes...

for those who didn't see my tweet, "Topics of conversation include wondering what color lucky charms moons were; dealer agrees with me darkwing duck > duck tales!"

I ended up finishing the day w/ a pretty nice stack, ~15% over average, which was good b/c the field was a bit tougher than I expected, or at least my table was. seemed to be a very good structure, except for they had no idea how to do antes in the early rounds b/c the structure sheet was all ****ed up. I ran pretty well at 8/b and razz, which was nice, because I could take maximum advantage. that's fine w/ me if I fold all the NLHE hands and whatever else and then pick them back up in E/R.

So, unfortunately, the next day, I lost like 4 big pots in a row, though in between, won one which Robert Mizrachi (3rd time at my table) said he folded a K on KKxx board to my double barrel... Lyle Berman was there, too, which at first made me happy b/c I guess he's from Minnesota, but he was being super annoying at the table. Like not paying attention to anything and then suddenly demanding everyone recount everything that happened in the hand. he played and ran me down w/ a 9 when I had a good 3 card hand to get me down to like a BB or two and then I bust a couple hands later w/ 247 < 248.

at least there's a stud/8 mega satellite the next day!
