I don't know anything about NH gaming law, but in other jurisdictions the casino is required to set aside holdings to account for the outstanding chip (check) balances, and are required to have a process in place to allow for redemption of those checks for a period (e.g. a year) after the casino closed operations. If NH cloned its gaming law from AC or NV they may have similar provisions.
Though
this article says it was only a couple weeks after closing for Revel, after which you had to file in bankruptcy court, so maybe not all that long.
