These guys are doing what I thought was impossible - making Twin River look good.

If 2+2 had that, it would affect half my posts.

A bit of an outline of what MGM will offer for dining. They also have a few good places within walking distance, and even more within a short ride/uber/shuttle if they offer one.

Although if you are going to MGM Springfield put on your list to go to Red Rose Pizzeria. It's next door to the casino and was saved from demolition because it's pretty awesome.

Am I understanding you guys correctly?

These rooms are raking $7 off the table, but only $2 of that goes to the house, and $5 to the promo funds?

Only Cheers is doing that, or at least was. I don't know if that was just for Monday or is still the case right now, but that will certainly flip to 5+2 or 6+1 at some point. IIRC Puck did say he would be doing something like that for the first couple of months (they had been doing 2+3 up until Monday).

Lol. That's an Uber ride away but the 351 Grille next door to it has pretty good food too.

Cheers is doing this at least for a little while from what I understand. Many pages back there was discussion on the need to build up promo funds due to the restrictions NH places on what the room can contribute.

Edit: Oooops didn't see Lattimers post.

I've never seen a poker market behave like this. I guess because states usually keep strict controls on things like this.

This is going to result in ruin, for someone. And that's too bad, I'd rather see everyone succeed.

Its unsustainable. WAY too many max rake pots with this format. Basically with auto-shufflers about $200 an hour coming off at a 1/2 table.

At least the charity gets $21 of that.

That is also how I think about rake, but not sure most even realize it(or care): If 9-10 people sit down with $200 each and play for 8 hours, essentially all the original money sitting down at the table is raked off.

I’m in agreement, but we are in the minority. Most people don’t know and/or just don’t care. They just want to go to a poker room and try and hit a high hand.

Chip Chaser...any possibility of getting a sit-n-go going tonight? Lemme know, I'm in the mood and there doesn't seem to be any being offered anywhere. Thanks!

The grossest part is that while they’re taking $1,500-$2,000 in 8-10 hours, they aren’t paying the dealer a good wage. It’s up to the players to provide for them in the form of tips.

I'm hesitant to respond to this because tipping is usually a hot button issue in any industry and the discussion causes more fights than solves problems. With that said, know that I respect your opinion not disagree. I've worked in a lot of different tipped Industries including dealing. Everyone always brings up the hourly wage that staff are paid when there's tips involved. The bottom line is do you industries require the level of income only tips provide in order to attract and maintain the quality staff necessary to ensure staff are always trying to improve. If the companies did raise pay and eliminate tipping they would have to recover that increase from customers anyways so they would do so by either raising menu prices or raising the rake. Just my $0.02
