No real experience required. Prefer some experience in Customer Service. We are still hiring. Wouldn't affect your ability to play here.

The Mississippi straddle replacing the missed blinds is not a good thing. Many people are exploiting this. Going to smoke/br etc and straddling the CO with no dead money. It's fine for utg but would be easier to just make everyone have to post the dead sb even if they straddle when they miss both blinds.

I didn't think you could straddle back in? Isn't the game about exploiting edges?

comps are separate in the poker room - you have to ask a floor manager to print you a voucher to a place you want to spend them. It's weird and annoying but it's how it is for now.

Johnny, any chance you could make the policy to have drinks behind players chips? I've seen a lot of confusion from people because chips were obstructed by water bottles and cup holders. I have multiple players at my table now who have there chips in front of their drinks and they still have plenty of room

I have not been to MGM National Harbor yet. But I am really surprised if their poker tables do not have built-in drink holders (holes) in the rails of the tables.

If this is true, someone in a decision-making position, apparently, feels that having USB ports for charging phones is more important than having secure spots for drinks that are off the poker table felt.

we have slide under cup holders in the room for anyone who wants/needs them. We also have drink tables for items that wont fit in a cupholder.

I am not a fan of cupholders in the rail for 2 rerasons: 1. They are difficult/impossible to clean and stay filthy in any room I have ever seen them. 2. We spread both 8, 9, and 10 handed games. In-rail cupholders always seem to start some dumb argument when squaring up the table, or when people want to use a particular cup holder....

There should be no drinks on the table without a cup holder..... This issue should be moot...

Correct. We are currently working on a companywide system to allow comps to be automatically uploaded, but for now, it's paper comps. Please see a supervisor if you need a food comp. They will print one for you immediately.

Why the change?
horseshoe has ms straddle up to 5x the bb, and it's been fine for the past 2yrs.

1/3 nl, $15 max altho most people either straddle for $6 or $10.

The cup holders block the view of people's chips too. A lot of players push their stacks up to the rail and then have a cup holder on either side of their stacks making it so other players can't see what is in a stack. I don't think anyone is purposefully doing this but every day I've played myself and others at the table have needed to ask players to move their drinks so that we can stack sizes

Yep, just now one guy thought everyone folded because he couldn't see cards hidden behind two drinks and a chip stack.

You really want to use Horseshoe over the past 2 years as an example of doing "fine"?

first of all the room is great especially for having been open for only a week. If I lived closer it would be my primary place to play. That being said heres some issues I encountered.

1. Even though bravo comes with the capability to text you when your seat opens the podium says they're not doing it. I can't figure out what would outweigh the obvious advantages of allowing people to leave the poker area and receive a text when they get their seats. What's the reasoning for this?

2. At one point in my 1/3 session we had 2 seats open for 20-25 minutes despite an 80+ person waitlist. Growing pains but just contrast with the next issue

3. I was in seat 1 - my friend in seat 2 got felted. He told the dealer he'd be back. He left his jacket on his seat and a cigarette on the felt. A random guy came and sat down with no seat card. I told the dealer that my friend was returning to the seat. The dealer asked if the guy had a seat card and confirmed he did not. I again spoke up that my friend left his belongings and would come back. Then the new player said he would leave when my friend returned (like commonly done at pit games). The dealer actually let him play a half dozen hands until my friend came back (??) and then the guy left. Very bizarre

Other than these and some minor issues this room is great.

Not if I'm sitting at the table. Dealer would soon be explaining to the Floor why he even thought of letting the guy play.

Should =/= is. In practice, drinks almost always arrive without a cup holder, and no cup holder is immediately available. The player must go scrounge for one, ask a busy floorperson, or do something else to get one. It takes time. Lots of players are not inclined to take that time. (I do, but I'm a rules follower and I think the exception.)

I'm not saying that the current framework can't work. It can. But saying that the issue should be moot is pretty disconnected from how things are actually playing out.

In most high stakes games of 5/10 or higher, you are allowed to play "overtop" of someone who is away from the table. Never heard of it happening at low stakes but I don't see any issue with it.

There's sushi in the food court. That's about the only thing I can think of that would be healthy in there.

How do the food vouchers work? Are you supposed to guesstimate beforehand how many dollars you think you will be spending on food? And suppose you get a voucher for $25 but only spend $20. Is the difference refunded?

Yes estimate.
No refund.
If you order your food in the poker room, you won't need to estimate.

Good point Guess I cross referenced another thread in my brain. If I remember from the hype thread, no $2 chips at MGMHN anyhow.

Will be down for 4/8 on Thursday late morning. If there something is a little bigger (up to 10/20) LHE or O8 I'll join.

Presume from the FAQ and link that parking is still free and should be no issue at 11AM.

Does room allow "playing over"?
