Anyone have any idea what traffic will be like on Wednesday night and Thursday? Specifically O8, as that's pretty much all I play. Got nothing to do for large chunks of those two days and wouldn't mind making some money.

Somehow I think ll the super-old nits ain't got any family clogging up their holiday either.

It will be busy on Wed, you may see an o8 game that day. Thanksgiving is pretty much an average Thursday night, but higher percentage of single men and cultures that don't celebrate T-giving. Friday and Saturday will have all 46 tables running.

While there's an expert around, does O8 ever go any time other than Friday and Saturday?

Occasionally I have seen it on on a random Thursday, but there is not any regular thing. Holiday weeks are usually the highest chance of getting a game together other than a weekend.

Lot of action today - only 1/2 2/5 though.
Splash pot $100 every half hour.
There was one on my table.
7 people call 7$ raise.
Flop in 8TJ two clubs.
Young Chinese good looking girl (her boyfriends plays 1/2) bets 15, young player goes allin for 200 with straight, another guy calls with nut flush draw.
The girl binks another 8 to win 500$ pot.

Overall I played well but lost $300. I know sample size is small but sometimes I feel online i much better because you can achieve long run faster instead of having many many losing days live.
AQ<44 on AK4AT board for 70BB
AK<AA for 30BB
TT<AK for 20BB
I played my top pair hands to perfection and got lot of value.
But I did not hit any of my draws and just ran bad overall.

Was up at Winstar Saturday night. I was suprised it was not busier. It has probably been a month or so since I was up there, but I was expecting on a Saturday night of holiday weekend that I would have to wait an hour or more for a seat at 1/2. Only had to wait about 10 minutes.

Has it not been busy lately up there? Is Choctaw getting more business with the new room?

Just slower than normal, but not by a lot. We are scheduling more dealers of late, so that contributes to the shorter wait times.

Choctaw is certainly not getting the action. One night two weeks ago (maybe Wednesday?) a player called there before coming to Winstar and they had one 1/2 table going @ around 10pm.

The Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving were VERY active at Choctaw. I typically play only $5-$10 NL at Winstar, and the new $1/$2/$5 table played like a loose $5/$10 table at Winstar. Seriously. There was at least $14k-$15k on the table much of the night. I truly like both Poker Rooms (although Choctaw needs better control of how they handle putting people on lists, opening tables, etc.), and I like a lot of action. usually, that has favored Winstar considerably in my book. BUT, at least for this past weekend, there was crazy good action (and long lists) at Choctaw.

Friday night after Tgiving at Winstar was crazy busy - almost every table in use. Saturday night was slower, but still pretty decent. I think families made plans or something, I dunno.

sadly, it used to be every table full and a huge wait every Fri/Sat night up to about 2 years ago aka B.E. (Before the Economy)

but then again now there's not a huge wait i don't have to grease the desk girl to get a quick table anymore

Plenty busy today when I got there about 1PM. It was aces cracked. While I appreciate the house giving away stacks of red, am I the only one who thinks its run its course, and is just goofy at this point.

I always thought AA cracked was kinda of a joke in no limit games, you can lose a $1,000 or more and get a $100.

The dealer told me they had $500 splash pot on new year day last year.
She said every splash pot on 2/5 table would be several thousand.
Is that true?

1) its still $100 in guaranteed EV

2) most games are 1-2 games and the average showdown pot is prob not much over $100

people like aces cracked, plus the comments from the peanut gallery at the table are LOL and tend to give great insight as to how my opponents think

You must be playing where they cap the buy in if the pots are that small.

???

The thread is about Winstar. It's in the thread title. They cap buyin for 1-2 games at $200. What are you trying to say?

And the key word in my post is "average" showdown pot being not much over $100. And that is mostly related to the players playing tendencies, not the largest allowable buyin.

Aces cracked, without doubt, brings in at least 4 more tables a day than the other weekdays get without it.
Obviously it is 4/8L and 1/2NL that increase and not 2/5NL and above.
Splashpot is the promotion more likely to change if change happens.
