The south entrance is the smoke free entrance, you can only go directly up to the 2nd floor (which is the smoke free floor whereas there's smoking all on the 1st floor). The poker room is on the 2nd floor, not too far from the south entrance, so that's where I usually go in. But north entrance, which is the main entrance, is probably equidistant, so it really doesn't matter, unless you want to avoid the smoke like I do, in which case for sure go south.

VALET!

It is at the South entrance a previous poster mentioned so can go straight upstairs smoke free.

You may have to wait in line to drop off, but, you avoid the scary walk to your car at night and they are pretty quick when you're ready to leave.

haha yeah

if you get quads or better (as long as you are in the hand at showdown...it can even be on the board and none of your hole cards) you get a ticket into a drawing for (2 packages) 1 seat in WPC main event + 5 nights accomdation + 1000$ in giftcards for the WSOPC in St Martin

I currently have 2 tickets in the bin (quads and str8t flush)...quads me and another player both chopped the pot and got a ticket w 88A88 board.

must be present on 10/21 for the drawing...would be a fun little vacation

so yes...a promotion...but one that costs TR NOTHING....everything about it was given to them so take it fwiw

Floor guy told me that there was a 5 way chop with J high straight flush on the board. Everyone who had cards after the river got a ticket. And I don't believe it has to be at showdown.

A friend of mine told me TR is taking names for the waitlist now over the phone, at least for the 5/10 NLHE game for known regs. Does anyone know anything about this?

Does anybody know if you can take like a cash value instead of taking the trip?

I can't go on the trip if I win due to work, but plan to be at the drawing on 10/21 and I have 4 raffle tickets (I run really good).

Prob 0% you can take cash value, but you at least get the $1000 gift cards, which can then be used for other stuff or resold at or near face value. But maybe the package or at least main event seat will be transferable, in which case you could sell it or at least give it to a bud.

I've considered that also. Obviously highly unlike that I win, but just considering potential options.

I asked at the sign up desk and was told "not yet."

Has anyone actually asked the floor about this or are we just assuming the answer is "No"?

I heard that there was a pretty good fist fight at 1:00 a.m. in the poker room a week or two ago. One player called the clock on another, and punches were thrown by both players. All of the dealers put their little glass covers over their chip racks.

I forgot to tell the second half of the story.

Everyone (including the dealers) are watching the fistfight, and some Dbag has the balls to steal $400 in chips from another player. He took the chips to another table, and kept playing poker.

When the fight ended, the theft victim complained to the floor. They reviewed the security cameras, and busted the thief.

I just called. 175 names for 1/2, 85 for 2/5, and 41 for 5/10 (for 2 tables only). Guy on the phone said some of the names had been on for 3+ hours. Seems like they could use those 8 new tables they've been saying they're going to add for the last 6 months.

Great catch. Sounds like a felony case (larceny over). Hope they prosecute.

I arrived at 2:30 for the drawing. Got on 1/2 and 2/5 lists. Finally got a 1/2 seat at 4:35 and moved to 2/5 an hour later. It was absolutely packed.

Sounds like the moral is they should do raffle promotions more often but perhaps at more off-peak times rather than when attendance is already typically large.

you mean....like other successful poker rooms? ....Why on earth would they ever follow any other business model, that works perfectly in other casinos?

Also apparently last night, there was a boxing event at TR. That probably boosted attendance. Tonight is a Styx concert, pretty lul they're performing at such a small venue.

I might be repeating myself here, but they are THE WORST at filling seats. Some 80 yr old guy calling names, can't work the computer, give each name like 10 MINUTES to respond. I told the floor, there's a 100 names on the list, you have to call them faster/2 at a time. It was like talking to zombie, no understanding at all.
