DK what you mean by restrictions. It is harder to get on weekends, and even for weeknights you will probably need a history of play.

So approx. how often does the 20/40 run now - I've heard it's basically once or twice per week? What are the chances of one going this Sunday?

The 20-40 Stud runs 24/7 and so you will surely find a game on Sunday. The 20-40 limit hold 'em was one of three live games I saw that survived Sunday and were still going on at 7:30 am Monday morning, 5/23.

Anyone know what the number of runners avg in the midnight tourny on a Thursday? Coming down late this week and looking to play but last couple of time #'s were low?

Does anyone know what the comps are for the 1/2 NL and 2/5 NL games?

I read above that its only $1/hr for 1/2 play but have been told by others that it's actually $2/hr.

I think the comps are $1/hr for 1/2 and $2/hr for 2-5.

I definitely know that they spread it on Friday and Saturday nights because I have been staying there quite a bit lately. And the odds are that they will spread it on Sunday's too, but I am not totally positive that it will run on Sundays. The good thing is the Borgata is a hop skip and a jump away from the Taj if they are not spreading it.

I was in AC last week and heard on several occasions that the taj was incredibly dangerous especially in the poker room. I was told that people were getting robbed at knife and gunpoint on a regular basis and that security there really didn't care about it. Is it really that bad?

[They will comp most folks a room once a week provided you have a history of play, a serious plus.] There are dangers, but not exactly what you were told, chips have been known to take a walk, I solve that problem by never leaving my chips unattended, there have been several murders at the taj, but none inside the poker room, the management does take these things seriously, but the new higher management has been cutting comps, goodies, and costs, so it is in some ways a losing battle, the staff in the poker room is first-rate from the director down to the part-time dealer and the staff has a lot of experience. Also the will comp you a room once a week if you have a history of play. I love the taj but you do have to be careful, watch your chips, keep your head low to avoid the occasional stray punch in a fist fight. The staff is among the most experienced and competent all-around.

I'm staying in margate this weekend and planning a trip to the taj tonight, after kids and wife go to sleep. Anyone know the chance of getting in a 10/20 stud game? Or 5/10?

At the present time there are 2 five-ten stud, and one 10-20 stud game, there are five names on the interest list for 10-20 hold 'em, 7:30 pm Sunday. BBJP = 211,889

I Was there last night. The 5/10 stud game was rockin. Put my name on list for 10/20 @ 10:30pm. And never got called. Stayed til 2:00am. Plus I won over $500 on 5/10. Why play 10/20?
Overall good night and wasn't scary at all. Didn't see any scary characters but I did see a lot of weirdos. I will definitely be back this summer.
