Not sure why someone said regulars wouldn't have hit it, but good players probably wouldn't have.
|
All I was saying was the one guy at the table said if the regulars weren't in the hand it wouldn't have prolly hit, they said the one guy with a flush put $400 in on the turn and the set of 2's called. Most people could have gotten away from the 22's.

He didn't. Not sure when the money went in, turn or river, but there were 3 all in players. One with 22, one with two low hearts, one with two medium hearts. The flop had three hearts but no 2s. Turn was an offsuit two, river was two of hearts.

The plaque still says 45, but most times is playing as 15/30. It depends on what the people who start the game want on any particular day.

If I recall, their was $100 in the pot on the flop, 1 with a flush put $400 in on the turn, the set of 2's called and then the other flush called, and then the guy with the 4 5 flush hit his straight flush on the river and gave the 2's 4 of a kind didn't hear what the other guy that had the other flush had.

I know there was no 2 on the flop, and was told there was no flop betting (can't imagine the 2's calling a bet). I was at the next table over when it hit and looked at the table right after. Even shift manager Vincent said something like "if you guys weren't so bad, this would never have been hit".

I know that they recognize me because I'm usually the youngest guy playing (I'm 35 y/o).

Once they recognize you, you're in. All the regs, especially one woman who never stops complaining (but in quite a charming way), love to see extra cards they shouldn't. I'm assuming your avg pot went from like 4 or 5BB to like 12BB, b/c that's exactly what I experienced.
Bill and Mario are great guys. In fact, they all are.
If I wasn't in Az this weekend I probably would have been playing the 10/20 stud there. More stud players = more fun. I've had some very good fortune playing that game when there have been 2+ tables going.

Sunday I was playing with Mohammed, the guy who had the deuces. His version is the same as yours with regard to the hole cards and the board, however he said that it was checked around on the flop and most of the money didn't go in until the river. He said he would have logically folded to any bet on the flop and any sizable bet on the turn.

re: Taj Mahal (AC) Poker Thread
FYI --
Just got another room offer in the mail for free rooms up to twice per week Sunday thru Friday until July 10th (except holidays). If you want those Friday rooms you better book soon because they will go fast. I'm really surprised the Taj is still doing this promotion considering it is almost the summer. Even if you don't play there much, check your online account -- I have only a dozen hours logged in the 10/20 game in the past 6 months. Can't complain!

I am there every weekend playing 10/20 or 20/40, and with this latest offer I only got Sunday-Thursday, instead of Friday as previously. Any chance you got the offer for other casino play?

No, all I've ever played there is 10/20 LHE (or lower), and very infrequently. When you log on and try to reserve a room with the offer, are the Fridays in June blocked off?

Yeah, for the second half of June and first half of July they are. I did get Fridays offered for first half of June and already booked those.

I play twice a month, but since I'm 30 years younger than the average person playing, they recognize me. I don't know the woman who complains all the time, although I'm sure I've seen her. Yeah, the pots were pretty big all day long. It was probably the best 5/10 game I've played in years (since 2004-5 at Trop). The stud games have been much better in the last 8 months or so. Like I posted yesterday, there were five 5/10 games, and three 10/20 games going on Saturday.
Most of those guys are cool, although I've had some bad times playing there. Some of those guys are grouchy and not very friendly. Especially when you end up getting hit with the deck and start to raise a lot. I did recognize some of the regs though-old Italian guy who wears Oakleys & bucket hat, middle-aged/well groomed guy who always wears a sport coat, heavy-set black guy who turns the chair backwards, older Asian guy whos wife always sits next to him while he plays, Bill, Mario, and the guy who's really old and has trouble turning over his cards.
Also, I was playing on table 17 near the 10/20 games. They looked very loose, FWIW.

That's strange. Maybe there was some error in my favor.
