Re: Taj Mahal (AC) Poker Thread

nineinchal: Was that you Friday night in the bright colored shirt, bandana around your head? there was a guy that looked like your avatar, I was at the table beside the one where the argument occured (no, it wasn't carlo russo, I know who he is) who was pretty irate over some crap that went down in his game, security came, it was pretty nasty, but then an hour later I see him walking back in the room.

And if anyone else was at the Taj on friday night, was it a complete zoo? I've never seen so many fights break out, so many security guards, so many Floorpeople in one room doing absolutely nothing. And then the topper had to be this guy who walks in at about 2 a.m. with a giant scarf wrapped around his body, a huge funky looking turban (but not like the standard ones) and a GIANT crookedy-shaped walking stick! Wtf. And how that stick managed to get by security I'll never know.

Re: Taj Mahal (AC) Poker Thread

I've come to the conclusion that the Taj Poker room on Holidays don't mix.

MLK Day: poker players gets mugged in the mens bathroom.

July 4th: poker player gets mugged in the mens bathroom.

And our most recent to date: (Labor day weekend 2009) Poker player gets physically mauled in the face when another player said to him, "If you don't stop talking I'm going to rip your face off." The man kept talking, the player apparently wasn't kidding, and now he is banned for life.

Just a quick reminder: For all you Blackcard holders, don't forget to pick up your free cookware set today----you have until 7 p.m..

I moved up to 10-20 limit last year and tried out the Taj game in Dec. over the x-mas to New Year's period. They had 2 games going, both were really good. The players were almost as bad as 2-4. In my marathon session, I probably saw 2 good players at the table at any one time. The rest of the table was made up of the usual calling stations, tight old folks, and crazy gamblers. The game has open limping, blind stealing is rare and done poorly, family pots are not uncommon (but no where near 2-4 levels). They had two tables going and the wait list took over an hour. There is a time charge of $5/half hour (i.e. dealer change) and I actually like that better than rake b/c people are less inclined to leave for hours b/c they must still pay time.

Also, I tried out the Borg 10-20 game this past week (Labor Day weekend) and it was pretty much the same. Game selection is also non-existent (2 tables). I would definitely not describe this as a hard game.

By way of comparison, I found 2-4 LHE online to be a much harder game.

Re: Taj Mahal (AC) Poker Thread

I guess I'm trying to compare the Taj's 10/20 to the Borgata's. In december it was fine at the Borgata imo, but I went a couple weekends in August and found the 10/20 at the Borgata to be almost totally filled with annoying regs who knew each other and generally, although bad at poker weren't that aggressive/spewy. Just trying to figure out if the Taj game is any different.

I've never played at the Taj, as everyone on here always talks about it being so gross in there, and the one time I checked out the poker room I got confused/disgusted and left.
