I got an email from Tropicana AC saying they would be reopened at noon on Monday.

I overhead them saying they are putting more money into the reserve BBJ than the current one so that when it hits the next BBJ will start high...Something like 70% going to the reserve and 30% going to the current.

This doesn't sound accurate whatsoever.

If that is true then it is bull****. In about 2 weeks the borgotas bbjp will be bigger anyway :-)

Bbjp at trop probably turning into a slush fund for someone

If it doesn't sound accurate than explain how the room could be full but the BBJ only increases less than very little...

I didn't overhear players saying it, I overheard the staff saying it...

Anyone know if bbj hit yet? Or what's it up to?

About the 70/30 thing mentioned above. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the other way around the whole time (70% goes to the current BBJ and 30% to seed the next one). That is the way PA Sands does it.

Bro, more should be going to the current but the total does a slow crawl upwards. There's no way with the traffic the room has been getting for it to barely move upwards unless they are only give a small percentage to the current.

From a business standpoint it makes sense. Once it hits if it resets anywhere below $125,000 the room will go back to being a ghost town. When it resets around $200,000 people will still come.

I predict borgota's will overtake trop's before trop's is hit . Should only take a week more - maybe 10 days.

Sould be a great weekend at the shore either way poker wise!!!!!!

I'll take that bet. It takes a great deal of luck to get a BBJ over 500K.

Have any limit games been going recently other than 2-4 HE? I'll probably stop by the Trop this week.

^^^ 2-4-6 (6 on the river) is the only limit game at the Trop.

Has Trop been jammed lately due to the BBJ? Crazy how high it got for a room that's usually empty...

Hey I haven't been up to AC in like 2 years, I'm from MD and have just been grinding @ Charles Town & Delaware.

Any strategies for trying to get comp'ed a decent room on a budget up there for a poker player? I usually play $2-5 NLHE.

Normally I would just go up there for a long session, pound a coffee and head back - but I have a ladyfriend that wants to tag along for the mall/club/spa side so getting a room would be more ideal.

Any advice is appreciated(except for the inevitable "just pay for a ****ing room you cheap nit")

I'm pretty sure Trop needs to have a history of play w/ an avg of 4+ hrs/day in their system to offer you a poker rate. You will not get a comped room playing poker.

Play at the Borgata. They'll comp you a room after about 10 hours of poker play.
