How can this promo possibly survive? If only 30 regs get 60 hours a week then that's $18,000 paid out a week, $72,000 a month. How can the TI possibly afford to pay out that much money? My figures aren't even including the people that are gonna get paid for putting in 20 or 30 hours a week. Those figures don't even include the $1 or $2 they give an hour in comp.
I really don't see how this promo can last.
It can't last long term. But keep in mind it is not house money they are using. They are using the jackpot drop to pay this (and the.y just increased that to $2). Unfoubtedly they have a surplus and this will go through that surplus.

60 hours is a ton of time to put in. As of yesterday, we were only on pace to have 8 people hit that mark.

We decreased house rake to increase the jackpot rake.
Slightly. Overall it is total increase in cost to players. With a small decrease in the amount going to the house. Definately better than just an increase.... But not an even trade either
Not from a lack of effort...we offered $2 max rake for the last 3 months of 2011 and now we're offering up to $10/hour to play. If it's not meant to be...
Right, you can't force limit players to come to your room. It's just like any other room. You need players - or props - to start games.
Truth be told, it wouldn't be good for the longevity of the promotion if tables full of limit playing locals migrated from the Mirage. We need some tourists in order to make this work, and with limit games, that really wouldn't happen. No Limit is what the tourists like to play, so it really may just be better this way.
That's chicken and egg. Limit players don't often go to Vegas to play because of the lack of games.
There are probably at least a half a dozen places I would play 4/8 at before Bellagio, but I live in Henderson. Keep hope alive, TheVig, I bet they get something going by February.
It's 60 hours per week to get $599 (per week). If you played 60 hours in a month, you would probably get about $250 or so (could be more if you stack hours), for the month vs. nearly $2000 if you do 60 hours per week. Depending on how you would do your schedule, you could easily hit $599 per month (the flier is in the thread for the breakdown).
Playing in this promotion could help a 3/6 player build a bankroll to play in 10/20, so I think it's worthy because of that.
Oops, I forgot the promo was per week, not per month. I wouldn't want to play that many hours per week, I play about 30 now. Still would love to have whatever extra I could get though, and I don't understand why you seemed to say most 10/20 players wouldn't love a promo like this.
Because I figured it would lead to a large reduction in hourly rate for most of them (because of it being 3/6), and that it wouldn't be worth it for them. Are you in California or Vegas?
Guess I misunderstood then. I agree I probably wouldn't want to move down to 3/6 to get the promo. If I was in Vegas I might try to move the game there though! I play in AC.
All limit hold em above 3/6 is eligible for the promotion, and I'm sure they'd spread 10/20 if they could get close to a full game going. Is that correct, Troy?
