It goes back to the employees, you'll get it back when you hit the jackpot. And please spare me the "it makes the games better" argument.
This argument doesn't make a lot of sense. We aren't employees of Sugarhouse, we are consumers.

Several other rooms around the country have started it. Players have to stop playing at these rooms for it to stop. Poker room managers just look at the numbers. If they get more games they will implement the higher promotional rake, if they get less games they will not.
The poker room manager doesn't care about you. She cares about the people who go in there 4 times a week and want the high hands. Do you think they would be doing this if it wasn't supported by a large percentage of the regulars? Eventually, it might change. It might not, though.
When it first changed in October, a person (might have been you) spammed my Facebook page with messages that we should boycott Sugarhouse and let them know we won't play there until the rake is $4+$1.
I walked in one night and one of the floor people pulled me aside and made it pretty clear that they didn't appreciate 'my comments.' I made it clear they weren't my comments. I even think they talked about a ban before they realized they weren't my comments.
Long story short, this just isn't a fight you can win. You don't have to shop at Wal-Mart if you don't like the politics. You can go to KMart or Sears. Same with Sugarhouse.
