The Tournament of Champions, Georgian is pleased to offer our rounders the opportunity to compete for $2000 and a coveted "Poker Champion Trophy" in our freeroll tournament of Champions on June 16th, 2013. Players qualify for the grand event by participating in regular MTT and Sit and Go tournanment's at Georgian earning points based on their finishing position. Min. of 6 tournaments must be played and only the top 25 players will be invited to the Tournament of Champions in June. When will the next Tournament of Champions start?

I think the Georgian Downs (GD) poker room is the best of the OLG electronic locations, but unfortunately, there are rarely enough players for the scheduled tournaments or a full cash game table. I would love to play in the upcoming $220+$10 Deep Stack this Thursday and $530+$20 on July 28, but doubt if there would be the minimum six players required.

The current minor promotion (Spin To Win) is not enough to entice players away from where they are playing now. I know a lot of players at Casino Rama, Woodbine & Mohawk, but they have no interest in going to GD. It seems that most players in the huge area prefer driving over to 11-table Woodbine for 5/5, 2/5, 1/2 & Omaha cash games.

GD needs to re-run the "Tournament of Champions" promotion so that a $80 MTT (with 3 payouts, NOT SNG with only 2 payouts) can get the room going every night, then the players can play cash games after. In the meantime, I will stick with my friends at Woodbine, Rama and Mohawk.

Unfortunately, all the PokerPro tables were dismantled today, August 25. There is now one less poker room in Ontario. One of the tables will be replaced by electronic roulette.

Thats what happens when you attempt to operate a new room with $550 BI mtts. Perhaps a bit steep for a start-up? btw, I love the harness action here, and made some good dough betting Tony Kerwood from the outside.

No, they offered mostly ~$60-$100 SNGs during the "Tournament of Champions" promotion, but failed to follow that up with another tournament leaderboard. Players like me would have continued to play the tournaments there regularly then play cash games in the other table when done. Mohawk and Western Fair Racetracks have established a niche against the Woodbine black hole by selling out tournaments, followed by cash games.
