At Ballys is seems to go right in relatively quickly.

I know it's only been a couple weeks since the grand opening, but can anyone give me an idea of what kind of new games that have been getting off (if any) **edit** at the new Showboat room?

Heading down to the Boat now. Going to start a list for 1-2PLO, we'll see what happens. I'll be there tonight and tomorrow, so if you want to see some mid-week PLO action Atlantic City style, come on out!

It has been over a month and we get more 1/2 games than b4 and a 2/5 sometimes.

3/6 limit has run everyday basically and it rarely did before.

I have stopped in a few times lately (including Saturday afternoon when I figured it would be busy) and there have been plenty of tables going, but only 2/4 limit and 1/2 NL. I have seen interest lists for 3/6 limit, 5/10 limit, and 2/5 NL, but they are never going. Can anyone tell when any of the bigger games may actually be going (not the 5/5 NL, that is too big).

The last time I was there I played 4 hours of 1/2 NL and earned a parking voucher. Can anyone go lower ?

When I was there the Friday before last there was a 2/5 going, I think it was about 7 or 8 at night. I doubled up there and than lost it on the 5/5, which sucked, but was my own fault

I was staying at the showboat last week and got parking after about 3 hours of play. Not much lower, but lower.

A side note was that the a** at the front desk told me I didn't qualify for free parking, that in fact nobody did playing poker. After I argued with him I found out that he wasn't actually the poker room manager, and was just filling in while he was on break. The next morning after giving them time to put my play in the computer I checked the kiosk and was able to print a parking voucher from there.

I was there a couple weekends ago and asked about the parking voucher before starting to play 1/2 NL and was told it took one hour of play. I ended up playing only about 1.5 hours and got the voucher no problem.

We are having a 50K guarantee tourney (225+25) on July 12th at 12pm I believe in the ballroom. I saw the structure quickly the other day and it looked really good. I also know someone is coming to take professional pics of the room and stuff soon, so maybe Ill be able to post them here. I think the tourney could help the room really get going, who knows. For you tourney players it looks pretty good tho. When I get more details on it ill post again.

So, I gather that there are generally no 2/5NL or 5/5NL games going during the week (Mon - Thurs)?

Most likely, next time say hi.

I finally played there awhile last Saturday afternoon, for 4 hours at the single 3/6 limit table which was on and off shorthanded.

The chairs are nice but felt very low. Another annoying feature was that they have suffle machines, but it had been removed from the table I was at because it had been used for a tournament that morning. Seems like they could have managed to put it back in, or put us at a table that still had one.
06-25-2008 , 12:29 PM
My table did not have a shuffle machine either, and I was clear on the other side of the room from where the tournaments are held.
06-25-2008 , 12:38 PM
They didn't remove the shuffler from the table. All tables have the spot cut out for the shuffler but not enough shufflers for all tables.

I played the big tourney last december or january and there were not enough copies of the blind structure for everyone who wanted one (specifically, me! lol). Can you ask them to make more copies this time? Or will it be up on the web ahead of time?

Lookin forward to it!

That may be true, but on Saturday one of the dealers told me it had been removed for the tournament. I guess he could have been wrong though.

We do not use the shufflers in any of our tournaments. Because the tournaments bring in significantly less in terms of money to the house (most tourneys have $12 entry fee,) it is not cost effective to use them in the tourneys. Also a side note, since we do not have enough shufflers for all the tables, we couldn't use them for the tournament anyway. They couldn't have the dealer at Table 20 hand-shuffling, then have the dealer at Table 21 using the shuffler. Table 20 is going to get screwed out of a lot of hands because of this.

Just wanted to let you all know that I'm turning 21 on July 9th and I've been convinced based upon this thread that the Showboat is where I want to experience my first live casino game. I'll be there July 11th and 12th (11th to play cash, 12th to play in that 50K guaranteed tournament)
