I was off on my original prediction by about a month and a half..... Said it would be back by Jan 1st when they first started it. Although I know a lot of the poker players gave in once they started the new room and 3 hour thing, glad the other gamblers held out. Really was such a joke to have to pay $10.00 to go to a casino, to play the tightest slots in North American basically... lol And even though the poker room was giving them out like free pieces of candy lately, still glad everyone gets free parking again... Can't hurt the poker action at least....

The surface parking is what I'm happy about. Yes the $10 parking was a bummer, but SHRT is the closest poker room for me, and my truck doesn't fit (to tall) in the parking decks. My only option was to 'oversized' valet for $30 or drive to Derby or Silks. So for the last 6 months I've lived in Tampa area, I drove to Derby.

I haven't seen it myself yet but I'm not sure how useful the outside parking will be unless you're there Monday through Friday before 10am. 500 spots will go in a hurry. Although now that it's free maybe not, back when the parking was free though I would estimate by 11am at the latest that 500 cars were outside

March promo is a lesser version of Feb's High hands.

10a-4p $200 (down from $300),
6p-midnight $300 (down from $500).
Nothing for the insomiacs, which was $200 til 8a.

Posting an incident that happened a few hours ago; I don't play the HR often so I'd like others input on to what else could I have done in this room specifically.

On the turn, 3 players in the hand: board reads x-Q-10-9 with 2 diamonds. $12 in the pot (That is significant in a moment)

I am 2nd to act, waiting for the action to get to me. 3rd player checks out of turn and the dealer burns & turns bringing out the Jack of Diamonds (now flushes possible plus AK). Neither 1st nor 2nd (me) was given the chance to act and immediately say that to dealer. Floor is called and action is explained.

Floor declares that "too much action took place and the J of D plays." Myself, and half the table begin to argue that ruling when 3rd player gets angry over the delay and pushes all in--acting out of turn AGAIN. $100+ into a $12 pot.

The floor says "I'm not arguing over a $12 pot" My instant rebuttal was "It's not $12 now!" Floor walks off, 1st player folds and I'm left with the decision to call an all in.

1. Should the correct ruling be that action on the turn be re-done with the river shuffled back into the deck?

2. Is there another person that I could have appealed to, or does the supervisor have final say?

3. If it was a $500 pot would THAT have made a difference in this room? (clearly it shouldn't)

Spoiler:
I had KJ off, and hit the straight on the turn. Obviously I would have bet had given the chance. I called the all-in and villain showed K7 for a split pot.

Hard Rock is a Seminole Indian casino and is not regulated by the State of Florida. They can pretty much get away with almost anything. Arguing or trying to get another person to appeal to was unlikely to get you anywhere, except maybe kicked out.

By the way, it is doubtful the 3rd player would have folded to your bet on the turn had you been given the chance. This is Florida. It probably would have gone:

You - Bet $15 on the turn. Villian - Call.
River Jd: You check or make a $20 bet. Villain moves all-in. You fold.

Be happy with your split pot.

For the first time since September, THR is not running a monthly promotion where you get $250-$300 for every 75 hours played, which oddly coincides with the removal of the parking fee. This indicates that the lost revenue from the parking should be offset by the regular poker players. Sad!

They added this promo to offset the parking fee,so its not surprising that they decided to remove it.

1.The natural river should have been dealt and then the exposed card should have been shuffled back in.As far as action goes, the rule in this room has always been action by more than 2 players.

2.There is a Shift Manager or acting Shift Manager on each shift. You could ask for them. You might get a different ruling.

3.Depends.A Supervisor would have considered it more carefully and might have asked for a second opinion from another Supervisor or Shift Manager.

Would love to know where all this jackpot/promo fund money is going, because I'm guessing about 5% of what they take out, is going towards that. Where's the other 95% going?

It wouldn't surprise me to find that the free parking vouchers passed out to poker players were paid from the jackpot/promo fund, just as the poker room comp points used to be. Maybe they are saving up to give away seats to some Hollywood HR tournaments.

It should only take a week or two to get it from $50 to $250. Like others I think there is some skimming. During busy periods, they are dropping something like $1500+ per hour. So even when giving away $500 per 1/2 hour, the till is still rising during much of that time.

THR tweeted at me they were going to return the hours promo in April. They also deleted the tweet. So who knows. The place really is the worst run poker room I've ever been to in my life.

Used to live in Vegas, am from the Northeast and have played poker basically everywhere in the country. Moved to Florida for the winter and spent January playing the track in Naples. I played at imakolee a bit as well when I was there. Have also played at a lot of casinos in Asia where I was the only white person and I'm pretty sure I was being collided against along with freaking homegames in Bangkok. THR is the nut lo.

Don't get me wrong, the staff at the Rock is horrible, but there is far worse places to play. Go down to Hialeigha and report back.

That could happen at any casino, Asia, US or any country. People just don't pay attention when they're walking around.

yeah actually twin rivers in providence has the worst run poker room of anywhere i've played. but the action makes up for it lol. thr is a rock garden. at least the dealers are really good here. i will avoid hileah heh.

i'm sure i could start a poker game at my apartment and intentionally make it worse than the rock but that isn't the metric used lol.

There are no nightime tourneys Fri and Sat nights. The biggest cash games on the weekends are usually 5-10 NL and 5-10 PLO. Also a 10-20 mix game, and sometimes a 20-40 mix game. Occasionally a 10-25 PLO will go, but not every weekend.
